Re: Setting up camp at night

I doubt it very much, with all the bustle in and out of Will Call for the first couple of days. But somebody much more knowledgable than me can confirm that for you.

Re: Counterfeit tickets

It seems like Burning Man makes it really hard to buy tickets from anywhere else except their own box office, which sells out within the first 5 seconds.

Re: Counterfeit tickets

Is there any truth to the gatekeepers voiding tickets that are sold from a reselling site? Like would they turn your car around?

Counterfeit tickets

If you're buying tickets second-hand, how can you spot a counterfeit? Same goes for vehicle passes.

Re: Setting up camp at night

How often should I supplement the water? Once or twice a day should I mix myself an Emergen-C? I have a ton of those little packets at the moment.

Re: Setting up camp at night

Will do, I'm practicing setting up my monkey hut and tent down here in the Florida heat. Good practice for the playa, prolly.

Re: Planning Arrival After The Gates Open 2015

If you're burning solo, what's the best way to find a suitable campsite? Just stay back from the flagged off theme camp zones, and look for an open space?

Re: Setting up camp at night

Right on. This is good advice. I didn't even think about arrival times. I was very preoccupied with the cross-country trek it's gonna take to get to BRC. I'm in the position of 'just get there', then worry about everything else.

I just ordered three nice shemaghs from Amazon. Neon green, khaki sand, and blue. So stoked to get them. Dakotah Jennings' video on Youtube showed me seven different wrap methods.

Re: Setting up camp at night

If traffic is going to be eased up at night, it might be the smarter play to get to the gate at night, no?

Setting up camp at night

People arrive at BRC at all hours of the day. I'm trying to time my arrival carefully, but what if I arrive after the sun goes down, or comes up? Is it even possible to set up camp during the night time hours?

Re: Best kind of sunblock

I do plan on wrapping my head in a plain white t shirt, Haji-style. That gives me good face and neck protection. And is doubly useful in dust storms cause it can cover everything except the eyes. But the goggles will take care of that.

Re: Best kind of sunblock

I shall bring lots then. Maybe a few large ones for camp and a few small ones for on the go. I shall do my damnedest to not get burned. That would really be a drag on the week.

Best kind of sunblock

i might be in the wrong sub group, but I wanna know the best kind of sunblock to bring. I'm thinking the spray stuff with at least a 50 SPF would do fine. Maybe something different for the face. Anybody have luck with something different?

OMG tickets

I think I'm gonna go this year instead of next year. However, I don't have a ticket yet. Luckily they're going to open up ticket sales again through OMG tickets. Are these typically hard to snatch up. It says there will only be 1000 for sale, and I figure if I'm able to purchase right as the window ...

Monkey Huts

Okay, I've been getting a lot of great advice from a lot of you. I followed the chromatest Monkey Hut instructions, and everything came out perfect. Two questions though: Should the the sides of the tarp be rebarred down into the playa, or is a slight opening at the bottom okay? And second, should t...

Re: Should I get a canopy?

Okay now I'm kinda liking the monkey hut idea. That chromatest link looks easy enough to accomplish. But can somebody clarify one thing? Is it possible to cut the 10' ribs down to 5' lengths to make them fit in a vehicle? And if so, would that just require more T-connectors and duct tape?
