I'm not sure what's getting lost in translation here and I'm not trying to get into a forum post war, I'll try to be as clear as I possibly can. Re: Setting Up a Campsite - Do I have this Right??

I agree with what one of the other posters said. If it's only two people, two yurts seems excessive. Drop one and it will be less you have to transport and put up.

Re: In Tent Fans

My problem is I'm going to be by myself and I don't know anything about putting together a shade and from what I've seen of them one person trying to do it isn't going to work out well. Any ideas for a simple one I can make? In 2015 I bought a 10' by 20' reflective tarp but never used it because I h...

In Tent Fans

In lieu of a shade structure, which I am having a real hard time figuring out how to build, are there any in tent fans that work well and aren't too expensive or is there no such thing as a portable fan that I assume would run on battery or charged with usb and will it actually help so I don't wake ...

Yet another post about PVC pipe

To amend my previous post asking about what size PVC pipe I should use to build my shade structure with, should I even use it at all or is it just too weak to stand up to strong winds? Should I just go with EMT pipe instead?

Will half inch PVC, the smallest size, be strong enough for a shade structure or is a larger size needed?

Pop Up Tents

I'm going alone for the third time and pitching a tent is not easy by yourself. I got help last time but I don't want to always count on other people to help, you know, the whole radical self reliance thing. So I'm wondering, are popup tents sturdy enough for the real strong winds we get if they're ...

Re: Shave your balls NOW !!

Was advised to do it before my first burn in 2015, did it and have ever since. When on the playa you don't get little mud balls that cause tangles from dust and sweat, the rest of the year it just feels nice and if someone has their mouth on or around them it makes it nicer for them.

I'm available to drive your RV from Los Angeles. I and possibly a friend are looking for a way up and this would work great. Have driven trucks up to 20 feet so I can handle an RV no problem.

So are there any new and improved ways to cover the mesh in tents to help keep the sand out? Or if nothing new, any good old ones I may not know about yet?

Re: People Seeking Camps 2017

[ Just for some perspective: You might find it hard to find a camp that provides bikes. A meal a day (especially if everyone cooks) and a group shade is not uncommon, but the ones that will offer shade, meals, AND bikes are rare. ] Finding any camp that will have bikes for it's members will be near ...

I'm an average sewer a best but I've managed some things and it really is cool wearing something you've made yourself. L.A. has a fabric district of four blocks of nothing but fabric store running from discount to expensive. I made a tank top out of the sequin material that changes color when you ru...

Re: Question about my bike

If you have the cruiser already, re-gear it. Unfortunately I don't have the bike anymore. I was running late to get to the Temple burn and ended up with the worst asthma attack I've ever had in my life. I had to be taken to Rampart and the people at the First Aid Station put my bike aside and swore ...

Re: People Seeking Camps 2017

I'm interested in being part of a camp this year. I've gone the last two years by myself and this time I'd like to be around people more than by myself. I can do general grunt work, general carpentry and painting skills and this year being a former masseuse, who I have been told am quite good, I've ...

Low In come Tickets Ticket alone: $231.82. Ticket and Vehicle Pass: $324.54. Visa or Mastercard at Will Call, only. Debit card OK, so long as it has the Visa or Mastercard logo. Unless there's been a change since the price was posted on the ticket info page low income tickets are still $190 same as ...

Unfortunately money is extremely tight. I can't work and got in on the low income ticket each year. This is my one big thing a year that I save up to do so no electric bike for me. The cruiser I had last year didn't have gears so that must be why it was so hard to get around. I guess I'll search cra...
