Re: Bicycle question, three-wheelers??
Hi all New to the trike world. Purchasing a used trike tomorrow and i'm getting an 24V 26" electric drive wheel with it. A picture is below. Does it look complete? I know it needs batteries. Also can anyone recommend an installation guide? http://images.craigslist.org/00a0a_kaIgdlWdBsZ_1200x900.jpg

Adjustable mount for solar panels?
Making my first trip to the playa this year and planning to bring a 50 w solar panel with me. For those of you bring a smaller solar panel with you, do you use any type of adjustable mounting to alter the angle of the panel? If so, are there any easy/cheap solutions to making one? I dont have the to...

Re: cooling your tent or van
Got my bucket cooler working nearly identcal to figjam's original design but I'm still confused on placement. Went camping this week and brought the cooler along. I set it up inside the tent and it helped keep the tent cool but ive seen many references to keep the cooler outside. I have a 6 person ...

Keeping your cooler off the ground?
Going to be bringing 2 coolers and was curious how important it is to keep them off the ground to avoid the conducting heat. I would need something that can hold ~75 lbs of weight. Thought about using bricks but i was afraid heat could transfer through brick (like a brick oven). Thought about using ...

Re: cooling your tent or van
Getting my cooler together and have a couple of questions 1) Currently have 2 rows of 1 in holes around the top of the bucket. It sounds like more are better but I'm afraid of leaks. Are 2 rows enough? 2)Can the cooler be placed entirely in the tent? I've read about the need for circulation. Is plac...

This fan. http://www.amazon.com/Delta-Electronics-AFB1212SHE-CF00-120x120x38mm-connector/dp/B004XJLOG8 I'm no expert on solar, but the charge rate is never as good as they say it is due to changing conditions. If it says 100 watts, you may get that at high noon with perfect exposure and no dust on ...

Re: cooling your tent or van
The 150 has ~150w. THey sell 7-30w solar panels. I bought a 100w that will be compatible.FIGJAM wrote:Yeah, the GoalZero looks pretty, but the specs don't show that it is capable of a decent run time.
If the pump runs at ~10w shouldnt i be able to keep it running at least 8 hrs a day without any problem?

Re: cooling your tent or van
I have not set up a 120V AC swamp cooler so I shouldn't try to answer that. Amateur here. The 12V DC battery-based system is easy to splice, efficient, and runs pretty silently compared to a generator running. If you can bring a 12V deep cycle battery, that would be ideal. If needed you could recha...

Re: cooling your tent or van
Hey squirrely, that's the wrong pump! Are you running your swampy off a battery or directly from a generator? If you're running off a battery, you need a 12Volt pump. It would just have 2 wires and it's very straightforward to splice them with your fan. That pump is a plug-in AC 120V. Apologies if ...

Re: cooling your tent or van
I bought this pump http://www.homedepot.com/p/Total-Pond-140-GPH-Fountain-Pump-MD11130/202017048 Very similar to this one, it has the plug connected directly to the pump so i'm not sure where i would cut the pump power cable http://ep.yimg.com/ay/attictrunk/fountain-tech-1250gph-120v-submersible-str...

Re: cooling your tent or van
Following Figjam's steps and had a couple of questions about wiring the fan and the pump together going to be getting this fan for a 6 person coleman weathermaster tent on the plaa(unless someone recommends otherwise): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001JKNMBE?redirect=true&ref_=s9_cxhsh_co_g147_i...
