Re: My group bailed and now I am left alone!!
Maybe it's a blessing in disguise! As others have said, use the year to really explore and experience things on your own terms. Seeing what you want, when you want, around your own sleeping schedule, and joining up with others/moving on as you please is really a great way to do a first burn. That be...

Yes, that is what I did. I think mine is mostly complete. I was posting more to recommend a tool I use to get organized, in the hopes it may help someone else too.

Re: Recommendation: Trello for my packing list
Interesting. Not familiar with lag screws but a quick search just showed me what appears to be a much larger version of a regular screw, about the same thickness as rebar. Is that correct? 2 questions: 1) They seem to be shorter(under 8" mostly). Are they made longer or is that length OK for the pla...

Re: Recommendation: Trello for my packing list
Thanks! The earplugs are fine for me - I'm pretty sure they're the ones I used to wear at oil refineries, I haven't had a problem. (I'm already a ridiculously heavy sleeper, with 2 roommates WAYY into EDM at all hours of the night.) I figure the cost between the packs wasn't much so why not get enou...

Recommendation: Trello for my packing list
Hey - Trello is usually a project management tool, I use it a lot to organize my ideas for tasks and effort. It's basically a souped up drag-and-drop list tool where you can tag, label, add due dates, comments, descriptions to different items. Being a first timer burner and extremely overwhelmed abo...

Re: Bike Recommendation: Huffy Cranbrook
Hi! I see this thread is a little old but hoping someone (maybe Eliot) can see this and give advice.. I'm ordering a bike at Walmart, probably this one, to pick up in Reno. My default in the past few years has been to ride cheap bikes and replace parts as they go - so I already know the inner tubes ...

Hi! First time burner 2015
Hi! My name is Lizzie, and I just got tickets to Burning Man for 2015. This is my first time going and I'm really really excited!! I've read the Survival and First timer's guide and am scrambling around trying to prepare everything for a great week. About me: Turning 25 right before the trip, ...
