Re: In the event of cancellation...
This afternoon a thought leaped into my head. We should get the CDC to test the effects of playa dust on this nasty stuff. I'll bet the dust wins. There is lots of hugging in BRC, but everything and almost everyone is coated in playa dust. Playa dust with daytime temperatures at 100 degrees F. Hmmm....

Re: First Time Burner looking for appropriate camp
I'm also in NC. Not impressed with any regional action here. I have attended four years. Will try to attend this year. I fly to Reno, and take the Burner Express to BRC. I do take all my stuff, but rent a bike in advance, to be picked up on site. Hey, call me or something. Local knowledge is always ...

Re: Preparing for 2016--Burner Express/Logistic Questions
I was a solo virgin this year. I camped in HOVerlandia, which is the camp reserved for Burner Express riders. I loved it. I obsessed with my pack lists, and weighed everything. I shipped one package to Black Rock Bicycles, where I had reserved a rental bike. It took about 10 days to get there via UP...

Accidentally Stolen Top Hat
Found a top hat with pink headlamp in the dance dome while Fleetwood Mac was being DJ'd. One of my friends said the hat went with us, so I collected it with some of our gear. Wrong. Afterward, all said it was not theirs. Oops. Black top hat, sort of gray with playa dust, and a headlamp with a pink b...

Re: So, how dusty was it?
Virgin Solo here. I dealt with the dust okay, but it did cause a bit too much drinking in camp.
The cold was another issue. I was ill-prepared for the cold. Thought I was ready for some cold. Discovered that I was not fully prepared for it.
Loved the burn overall.
Fuck the dust.

Re: Couple of Burner Express questions
This will be my 3rd year taking the bus. I left last year on a 6am Sunday bus and I was in Reno by 8:35am. The airport had a bike return corral, so I was able to drop my bike off with no issues. My flight was leaving around 4-6pm so I had plenty of time to freshen up in the bathroom before boarding...

Re: Solo Burner Meetup
I'm interested in the meet-up. I am a solo virgin, flying and riding the Burner Express. Arriving some time Tuesday afternoon. I plan to camp in Hoverlandia at 6:30 and Illusion. I am also struggling with space and weight restrictions on airplanes and the bus. I left my cool camp shower at home. It'...
