Re: How is sleeping at Reno Airport Saturday night?
As above, it's not uncommon to see burners sleeping. I'd probably try to get some shut eye near your gate, not passed security. The gate might will be quieter and once you leave the secured area, you probably can't get back in without a ticket for that day.

The stops and searches are very prevalent and widely reported. I was wondering why it took so long for the subject to show up here.

I have fairy lights sewn to my dirty ass playa back-pack, which had to be thrown in the washer. I took out the batteries, then washed it and let it dry. I was THRILLED when I put batteries back in and they lit up!
I ordered more fairy lights just in case.

It's to maximize the effect of the dust created from gate road so it goes right down the middle of the city, through center camp and onto the playa.

I didn't even think about using the swamp cooler outside of my tent. Maybe I'll make another one that vents out about chair level. I'd be nice to just sit in front of that thing for a few. Everyone can use their own water.

Smaller Misting System: Pump or Bucket Top?
Hi all,
I am looking to run a smaller misting system. The 500+ psi pumps are a bit out of my price range so I am wondering if a smaller 100 psi one will work (with 4 nozzles) or get one of those bucket top fans from HD. Any thoughts?

Yes, it will work. I fly with lags (checked) and and battery powered impact wrench (checked) with two charged battery packs (carry-on). It's worth making room in your gear for this, IMO.

Re: 2018 One item a day for BM list
Just booked flights and hotels! Also made a lot of progress with my gifts last weekend. Other than rebuilding my FIGJAM to the exact spec, I really don't have many camp-related things or upgrades I need for BRC this year. I have a playatech project I'm working on for local burns, but that will only ...

Personal camp: After major upgrades last year, I'm simplifying what I/we bring out this year. I have all the infrastructure I need and I'll spend a lot less time explaining to my wife what she should consider leaving home. She gets it now. So, less stuff! Theme camp: We have our Philly based sister-...

Re: Tell me about your Regional... why should I go?
I just got back from Love Burn and it was amazing. I’m still blissed out. * Easy and relatively cheap to get to for our largely East Coast camp. * Tons of old friends and made tons of new friends. * great venue that’s easy to walk around. * Music was AMAZING. * Got to climb some things. * Family fri...

I'm running point for my camp this year. We emailed Placement for the change in leadership. I've been getting their emails but not THE email with the info for next week. Anyone else?

I'm hoping someone got the first pass (I think) when the pilot pulled straight up into a vertical climb. That's interesting you mention the BRC pilots were not happy. I wondered how they would react. I thought one of the passes came from the direction of Gerlach, which would put it facing the take o...

Re: cooling your tent or van
My FIGJAM bucket was a fucking lifesaver. I need to re-do it to reduce gaps between the blue material and the bucket, which made it a little hard for it to cool off the whole tent (I suspect). We were able to nap and do adult things during the middle of the day as long as we were directly in front o...
