Re: Only 6" of 24" lag screw is threaded
only the first 6" of them is threaded, the rest is just plain shank. This is normal from my experience. I didn't get purchase with the threads until about 12 inches down in some spots last year. While it may technically reduce the amount they can hold, for something like monkey hut posts it should ...

Re: "Tracking" your Burn?
I carry my phone with me (I know, shame on me right?) to use as a GPS tracker. Google location history captured my entire burn. This seems to me the most seamless method of tracking where I spent my time. The path it recorded was very accurate.

Re: Hello from Michigan, cosmic truck camper coming in for a landing
Howdy, fellow Michigan burner here (Jackson area). Figured I'd poke my head in and say hello. Make sure you take a day (a few days, or all the days) away from the camera. Not sure you've looked in to how bad the playa dust will be on your equipment, or what precautions you've taken, but I'd suggest ...

Re: Aluminet type and Costco carport dimensions
I use a 20' x 20' 70% panel for my carport shade. Paid ~$0.50 per sq ft (with grommets on edges). Bought from a garden shop online. It covers one side to the ground, and comes up short a bit on the other.

Re: Radical De-Commodification?
My first year was last year. Did not cover the U-Haul logo. U-Haul does have a decal kit to cover the logos https://www.uhaul.com/Burningman I don't live in an area where these are available, but no one gave me any crap about my not covering it. That being said... I saw more logos covered/modified t...

Re: 26x8 Kodiak Canvas Tent
I took a 26x8 out there last year. > I worried the bigger the tent the less durable it is during a wind storm. The wind was mild enough last year that I did not have any issues. I can't speak to every year though. Had the porch attachment as well so we'd have an enclosed kitchen, it held up just fin...
