Re: Love, Yoga, Dance

I really want to get "inside" myself this year, see what I'm made of---and dance, dance, dance... because... I've never really danced before. So, I hope I'm made of some fluffy dancing stuff. And maybe even a little bit of kitty cat, lord help me.

Happy I got rid of Translucent Floating Head Lisa, that was really over the top. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I'm glad you got rid of it too,,,,no need to associate it with this: zardoz1.JPG or thinking of the head brings up memories more frightening: 007's image destroyed:...

Re: 'Joe-ba-ha' you out there? Video from last year

I really liked this. It felt real , moreso than a lot of Burning Man videos. The first "I wonder if you're out there... I miss you" hit me pretty hard. It would have stood on its own, even without the rest revealing about Lisa. Yeah? Where were you when I needed you [editing]? ;~) Naw, th...

Re: 'Joe-ba-ha' you out there? Video from last year

Great perfect piece of music at the beginning (a song from one of my fave albums from the boys) and then a very natural feeling came over me during the rest. Never a jarring edit, great transitions, a personal story, and great mix of sounds. Congrads! I've watched that video, I don't know, hundreds...

Re: Hear me out: ... bedpan

"Poop like an Astronaut!" I know I was advocating for being able to poop instead of having to get up---but I'm usually good about holding that (---IN MA HANDS. No-no, that's disgusting). If I can get a solid five with a pee break somewhere in there, I should be fine. But I would like the ...

Lizkelly and Chaps too. Welcome to eplaya. Concentrate on the necessities. Food, water, shelter, suitable clothing. Nobody will judge you on the 'extras'. Gifts aren't necessary and frankly you would miss the mark. Let your gift be a helping hand. Most of the swag I receive is from 1st time burners...

Re: What is the best gift you ever received?

I received a last min Ticket as a gift in 2014. I had to drive all the way to BRC from Boston with no ticket. Only within the last day prior to gate did i learn that I was getting a ticket, i received the correct itineraid at the absolute last minute. This was the year of the strike and all roads a...

Re: Gifts and gifting

Playa dust shifts around though, and the ash could still reach the plastic exterior. The tape provides protection. Plus people might just dump the playa out if you put it in there, thinking it just got into it accidentally like it does with everything else. You make a good point... but I have a sne...

I'm moving this to the Q&A board, since that's a better fit for general preparation discussions (the Stories board is intended more for the posting of pics, videos, and stories from the event). That does sound like some seriously weapons-grade laziness, though. I can't say I've ever used one or...

Re: Hear me out: ... bedpan

That sounds like a lot of hassle, buying a bedpan and carrying it in and out of the tent to empty it and clean it? Pshaw! My plan is much simpler: pooping in my pants while I sleep. Not only need I not arise from my bed, I need not even awaken from my K hole. In the morning, simply change pants (so...

Hear me out: ... bedpan

No one likes talking about it but it's the best part of Burning Man, thus I'm flummoxed. The topic: Having to use the facilities in the middle of the night when all you want to do is sleep. Sure, there's the gallon jug or bucket, etc., but you have to be in some sort of upright position to use them....

What is the best gift you ever received?

Mine has to be a BM medallion necklace from 2004. I think its made of cooper. Just the man on the front with the year and the artist's initials on the back. Really cool piece of work that's acquired a patina as its aged. Second would be a BM shot glass from that same year.

If everything I bring gets destroyed, I will still be standing there, on the playa, naked, sand-blasted and wide-eyed... like that dude I said I never would be back in 2004.

I've been thinking about this and why get the tape? 'You' want an ashtray/cigarette-disposal unit? Just put a little playa in your container. It's gotta be good for something.
