SunflowerRz Don't go near an electric fly swatter without your hazmat suit. BLEH! I hadn't thought of that! Although I HAVE made my peace with the fact that we all eat at least 7 spiders in our sleep a year and that there is an average of 6 bug legs in every bar of chocolate. GOTTA LOVE THAT EXTRA ...

I have to flush the toilet with the seat down for fear of toilet water molecules spraying all over my bathroom and getting on my toothbrush. I think brushing in a Porto is not for me. Lol.

Re: Educated Questions

I do have a non-pee related question. How does one brush one's teeth out there? I don't appreciate the taste or feeling of food in my mouth when I'm done eating. I try and brush after every meal, or at least eat a mint. I need to brusha brusha brusha and something tells me no one gifts the new Ipana...

A sparkle pony has a gazillion fancy outfits and no water. And then just...empty the potty out next time you use the Porto? I guess it's just part of the experience you have to embrace? Re: Educated Questions

That'll help me plan where we plant ourselves! I was worried about the smell, hadn't considered the noise. Would making camp half a block or a block away help? So still in walking distance but far enough away.

What...is a camp potty? Is there a special camping potty we can buy?

Thanks! I love watching those videos. Everyone has such different experiences. It's so interesting!

I'm still fuzzy on picking out a camping site. Is everyone who isn't placed just wandering around hoping for a good spot? You just drive around the side you want to camp on looking for an open spot?

Re: Educated Questions

As I said, we wouldn't be relying on rain water. I guess I just feel like if it DOES rain, extra water can't hurt. Meh. Maybe a dumb question.

The electrolyte water isn't something I had thought of really. That sounds like a plan man!

The fridge has no vent to outside air. Of course you should run the fridge, that's one of the best parts of an RV! No your food won't get dusted.

Re: Educated Questions

I had been mulling over that route. I just wasn't sure about time and it seems like it'll be putting some miles on. It could be something to consider if it's easier on the vehicle, though. We're coming from central Texas, so I-35 would be a great option. There's a lot less highway switching and thos...

What do you cover your monkey hut with?

I've read a tiny bit about swamp coolers. I'm not fantastic with rigging. That's more my husband's thing. He doesn't have an account on here just yet, though, so if you have any advice that I could pass along to him, that'd be great!

My husband and I are looking at 2017 to be our first burn. We're both virgins. I've been up and down burningman.org and many of these forums. I've learned a lot! I still have a few questions, though. Okay cool. Thank you! A lot of great advice. I know black isn't the best to wear on the playa, but I have a few costume design ideas. One.of which involves a black tutu with LEDs I got for a birthday one year. I was thinking about trying to find a pleather jacket and adding rainbow cuffs to go with ...

Page 12, about halfway down. I also love the vests with the colorful trim around the arm holes on 18. And the ves...

Re: Start with what you have. It's easier and cheaper.

These darling little bustles are made from upholstery samples. Luckily they already had a 'channel' at the top to run the ribbons through. the ribbons with bows keep them gathered up. I used up some old scraps of lace to decorate and long scarves to tie them around my hips. So sexy. Okay so these a...

Re: Playa Hands - Tips to treat (or avoid) playa hands

I have eczema and I used to work at a bakery and had to wash my hands frequently. My hands became super irritated, angry and red. I used tons of lotion every day and it didn't help. Finally, a friend recommended O'Keefe's Working Hands and it became my band's deliverance. You only need a bit on the ...
