Did I miss something here? Is everyone on the Playa already? I want to PARTY but I'm on call and they tend to frown at you when you come in wasted to do an EKG. At least here I can pretend to party and not get in trouble for it. Guess I'll just have a virgin Mojito. YAWN. Preparations are in full sw...

BB, try working it this way: When you think of each opportunity, which one gives you the warmest and fuzziest feeling? Factor in the job, assuming they aren't the same, the living conditions, the location, the money, etc. It doesn't matter what any of us would do, it only matters which would make YO...

Words only have the meanings we give them. I had no idea that barbed wire was some sort of code for white supremacists nor do I care.

Maybe I'm just being naive or a clueless fuckwad, but I don't think you should give someone shit over their name if it wasn't an intentional slur. Give him a break!

LCN! So glad to see you again!

May I buy you a beer & a cigar?

It may take you awhile to get home if you're pumping that Contraption all the way back to Kentucky. You must save your strength, darling. Get a good night's sleep.

I can't wait go for a ride on the Playa in that gorgeous hunk-o-machinery.
Do you require authentic period garb, or will standard issue combat boots and sarong do the trick?

Re: Burners vs Beauticians

on the other hand a sense of pressure to "fit in" with a certain Burner-style, ie: the Utilikilt/cowboy hat/combat boots look. I didn't want to look like a stupid newbie, but I guess that's just my own insecurity. I hope to be more comfortable with my self-expression next year. There ARE options......

Burners vs Beauticians

I find this topic VERY interesting on many different levels. '05 was my first Burn, so I went without knowing quite what to expect (as I suspect all first-timers do). Interestingly, I found quite the opposing feelings of personal freedom. One that I could "get away with" personal expression in the s...
