Re: Sacred Spaces Village 2015 - Camp with us!

And I forgot to mention that Sacred Spaces Village will be at 4:00 and Freak Show this year. Great spot, plenty of room, and a fantastic group of people. We're excited to have new camp members, and welcome people with years of playa experience as well as those coming to the burn for the first time.

Sacred Spaces Village 2015 - Camp with us!

http://sacredspacesvillage.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/2_fake.png I've been journeying to the playa for the burn for 15 years, and joined the community at Sacred Spaces last year. I enjoyed it so much that I am back for a second year. I encourage folks who feel an alignment or connection with Sa...

Re: Wifi or internet access on the Playa

If you must have wifi out there, you should bring your own. Last year I brought a BGAN terminal that I rented from Outfitter Satellite. It was painfully slow and fairly expensive, but I could reliably check my email every day. There is accessible wifi on the playa, but my experience has been that it...

Re: Car rental tips [was: Car rental, <1 year license: [...]

I've rented from a few different companies at the Reno airport for Burning Man. They have all sternly advised me that they would charge me a fee if I brought it back really dusty. I brought one back to Budget after having spent an hour cleaning it out, and the guy turned on the A/C and got a face fu...

Talynt, don't rely on cell coverage. It will be spotty and overloaded at best. I rent from Roadpost and have had good luck. If your parents just need to make one or two calls, they can use mine. PM me if you want to set that up.

Claire, when I was in Paris a couple years ago I met a group of burners there who were really cool people. You should be able to meet that group through the French Burners website:

Re: weather at night

I've been told that it gets cold at night. Will it get cold enough to warrant more than one layer of clothing? BMnoob Some years I have gone from fire to fire just to keep warm around 4am. The coldest time is dawn tho. Brrrrr. 3 or 4 layers and still cold. Other years, especially the past few, I se...

Re: Will getting back to Reno Mon Flight at 2:35p be hard?

I am planning of flying back to the East Coast on Monday Sept 1st at 2:35pm from Reno. Any thoughts on what time I am going to have to leave Black Rock City? After dawn on Monday the line to get out of BRC will be hours long. If you leave after 6am, you will be pushing it. I would suggest leaving a...

Being sober at Burningman is 10x more fun than drinking or doing drugs at Burningman. I sure wish someone had mentioned that fact to me in 2000, 2001, or 2002, when I went and had some really rough nights and (ugh) MORNINGS after getting wasted. It's horrible to be hung over on the playa. Thankfull...

I've known DaMongolian as a Ranger for several years. In my experience he reacts appropriately and "Rangerly" to the kinds of things Black Rock Rangers run across on the Playa. It is absolutely not too late, and you will only regret it if you pass up another chance to go. Do it. Please. If you have problems out there, just ask for help. The playa already has medical services and a sanctuary team for mental health issues so why not form a legal team (if such a thing is possible)? The justification for it could boil down to event preservation, ie: it gives the BLM one less arrow in the quiver for permit denial reasons in the future....
