Thanks for the info oneeyedick.

I found out it will be near center camp, in case anyone else was curious.

no offense intended, but you havent been attending burningman long if you think these things are isolated cases. the trend permeates everything, and nothing can be done about it outside of the org. if you dealt with them long enough you realize how futile that option is as well. today, in the very ...

I shall try to make it as well! Playatime is a special thing, and I've found that aside from committing to volunteer shifts, I have a hard time making plans and keeping them on the Playa. There are so many variables that one cannot anticipate. That said, hopefully I'll be seeing you all in a few sho...

Interesting thread. As the event grows, more rules are implemented and I do largely place that blame on the BLM. They have continued to create more astringent requirements for BMORG. It sounds as if the DMV needs to revamp their rules and qualifications to meet the growing restrictions and give plen...

I too question how the error rate is found. It's not a number that you can really prove. I think this post is especially important as Burning Man is known as a place to indulge- in alcohol, substances, and sex. When folks are drinking and partying together, people hook up. Unfortunately, remorse can...

I'd suggest checking head shops and flea markets. Sarongs are great for the playa, but be sure to fold them in such a way that they are much shorter when you're planning on biking. I usually fold them in half horizontally and knot them at my hip. If you don't, you'll get the material stuck in your b...

I just saw a Current Pod about Midnight Ridazz. Are you all going to be on the Playa this year?

Re: rechargeable battery/DC air conditioning

Scratch my question about solar powered ac units. I've since learned that was way too optimistic.

rechargeable battery/DC air conditioning

This will be my fourth year on the playa, and I have to say that the camps with AC were pretty fucking great. This year, I'll be turning the back of a cargo van into my home for a couple weeks while there working and playing. I have been looking for something inexpensive and fairly simple to use jus...

Hey there....my name's Michelle and I am also a first time burner. I'm really looking forward to the event and to an awesome new experience. I had heard about Burning Man for years, but when I finally learned about what it was, I was and have remained extremely excited. It sounds like a community i'...
