Re: Anyone else going crazy?..

I find that helping others get ready typically has allayed my anticipatory stress in the past. I've got two virgins in tow so far this year, as well, so I'll enjoy having them to guide a little.

Re: Burner clothes for those without perfect bodies

I find it strange that you cant find "plus size" clothing at thrift stores. I am 6'1" and 225 lbs. Not morbidly obese, but I'm a large man - XL or XXL by clothing sizing standards. I certainly can't find everything at thrift stores, but I have many, many pieces that came straight from some plus-siz...

Re: Burner clothes for those without perfect bodies

Thrift stores are great for conventional sizes, shit for plus sizes. I have not once found something in a thrift store to wear to burning man. I feel like many of the comments here miss the point. Of course there's no dress code. Of course you should feel comfortable in your skin wearing whatever y...

Re: Burning since 2016

Hi, Z. Welcome to eplaya. Don't worry yourself too much about meeting people or finding a camp to be with at first. Other than your ticket and the parking pass, Burning Man can be done on the cheap, but you have to do it right. I don't know what your first year was like or how independently you did ...

Re: Burner clothes for those without perfect bodies

FUCK THE DRESS CODE. I'm not chiseled out of stone by any means, but I don't look bad in my underwear and I plan on wearing three piece thrift store suits all week and carrying a brief case. Wear what you feel like wearing and don't let anyone give you any shit about it or pressure of any kind to lo...

To quote Dr. Dru..."Perfectly normal, perfectly healthy." You're going to be fine. You know what makes a great gift? Something with the year on it and a Man shape of some kind. Don't overthink it. Also, you're under no obligation. Make lists, don't obsess. You're going to fuck it up no matter what w...

Re: End of radical self sufficiency - shift to radical community

When I look at the 2015 Census, I see that about 36% of participants are virgins, with about 21% being year year 2. The DGS which includes departments is 37% of the tickets, the general sale about 43%, presale and gold tickets are about 8%, OMG about 3% and low income about 6%. My conclusion is tha...

Can't help but wonder if we know each other. Do you know the Fjorgyn art car? Big metal viking ship built by a fella named Dennis? The Fjorgyn art car (big metal Viking ship) sounds awesome. I can't wait to see it. Maybe after a while of getting to know you (if we get a chance to meet), I can get a...

Re: New burner from the UK - need advice!

You will most definitely need a car to get to BRC, it is in the middle of nowhere, with zero public transport. Do look over the Burner Express, that may fit your needs. From the Gate to the city is several miles, bike and foot traffic is not encouraged/allowed. https://burnerexpress.burningman.org/...

Re: New burner from the UK - need advice!

A few things i'm wondering and need advice on are: - Would it be best to join a camp on our first year, as we've come such a long way it will be harder to get supplies than it would be if we were driving. - Shall we rent an RV which would be easy to pick up from the USA, or pay for our tent to be s...

It would have been 2010. I camped there that year, actually, but I wasn't around much. It was a busy week and then I kind of booked it out of there early due to MAJOR WEIRDNESS with an ex. These things happen, though. I'll be staying with a different camp this year, but I'll definitely be making the...

I'm just wondering: did this work? I mean, it's pretty icky, suggesting that what you are REALLY doing is offering a dues- and work-free environment if some hot chicks will hang out with you. So I I'm asking - did any women, sorry self-reporting "attractive females" actually respond to you? Who? In...

The Q&A is precisely for silly questions. Don't be bashful. You're far likelier to find traffic queues at car washes on Labor Day than you are to find closed facilities. Most of the car washes in Reno (I presume you will at least be passing through Reno if not flying in/out of) are self-service, whi...

They're allocated at a lower rate already - BMorg gets the write off for them whether they're used or not. It's not a conspiracy or anything, but Burning Man doesn't go out of its way to advertise the program either. Happens every year. And also, since we have a history detail parsing, let me clarif...
