Re: Need an Assist on Power Calculations
I agree with Coyote, Admiral and BBadger. A gen will simplify it and give more power during day time too. It's so close to the burn + ride time, there's not much time left tobe ordering, building, testing, debugging, modification, and optimizing for battery operation. Could put (add/ fasten) a locko...

Re: Need an Assist on Power Calculations
Use for practical lighting, or visually pleasing ( look pretty)? How far in programming are you? Need to get them wired on the floor and get that programming started. What's done in program can save a lot of power like Token said. Once all wired on floor, hook an Ac amp meter to where you plug into ...

Re: How much food?
I was just thinking about physical activity and the calories that would Burn (pun)? Walking, bike riding, and partying all burn calories. So it would probably be a good idea to bump that 2000 calories per day to say 3000 calories per day??? 2000 would be a diet on a normal default day. I don't Keon ...

Re: Need an Assist on Power Calculations
Are the leds RGB addressable? Can you link to the LED strips please. (For full specs) Wireing diagram or discrimination How are arduino being used, I assume controlling leds Like Token was hinting to, with the duty cycle. Multiplexing the strips would lower the power requirements. Possible side effe...

Re: Tips and Tricks for RV's at Burning Man
If your actively cooling the rv. Use thick foam board between front cabin area and the living area. Keep heat from up front in its place. Maybe add foam board over the front windshield and door windows Use foam board over all the windows (maybe leave one or two that u enjoy looking out of). Windows ...

what im planning on is: build a solar stove to boil water for the Freeze Dried food and plastic silverware Then Just add water. 1: it tastes good. (You can request a free sample but this close to the burn no time for free sample then order) 2: no pots, pans, plates, bowls to be dirty or needed -> Al...

Re: Politically Correct Playa Clothes
Great thread. I now know what I will be wearing for one day. A Native American hula girl Nazi with a Yarmulke cod-piece. Aka the most politically incorrect as possible. And the master piece of the whole outfit a MAGA hat and a Trump shirt. actually no, that would not be self expression for me.

Re: How does one charge 2 deep cycle 12v batteries?
question: What type of charger to use and what specs does it need tobe? for such an "easy question" , some sore have a hard time to answer it then?? it not that easy of a question. if you home with 24/7 utility power yah, any charger and done. But, we are talking about a remote extreme environment,...

Re: How do I power Arduino Unos to several LED pixel strings from a generator?
if there is a reason for the Generator to power it then, I would order Two of This one you listed above one to use and one for backup. (dont use the Generator 12V plug) Token is right: the Gen is over kill if you can power from the car. At first glance the string 3 in series sounds great BUT these a...

Re: Waterproofing interactive lighting controls
You want tactile feel with a capacitive touch reliability. Ideas: 1: mount a tactile slider but don't hook up 2: use something else reliable to monitor the slider and hands/fingers people have to touch the slider to move it, same with buttons. Options: Mini therman (love that idea ) Ultrasonic range...

Re: Dust protection for audio equipment
Sealed enclosure, have to design for the Thermal dissipation. keeping equipment within operational temperature range. Night temperatures are low so that helps you out. Idea: A sealed metal box and use a "air heat exchanger" with two fans setup as a closed loop. Maybe able to integrate a evaporative ...

I dont quite under stand what your trying to do and i dont know all the details, but here is what i think your trying to do. mic to trigger is not a good pick for that environment. Re: Generator to recharge deep cycle battery
Regardless of Set up. When charging a battery/battery bank from a Generator: Only Charge to 80% Capacity of bank any further charging is a complete wast of Fuel. (In other words: a generator is only good for the Bulk Charge Phase of a battery) if you want to charge the last 20% (aka the Absorption C...
