Re: Firechat on the Playa

Anyone try Firechat over the past few years? If so, how was it?

Question: GPS Tracker for finding bikes, friends, tracing your burn, etc.?

Hi all, I'm looking for a GPS tracker that doesn't require cell service for the purpose of finding a bike [if stolen] and friends [when I actually care about finding them]. A bonus would also be something that would allow me to trace my journey in BRC after the burn. I've searched the forum and foun...

Re: cooling your tent or van

Didn't realize the specs were missing there. Here is another link that shows the specs. It's the same brand as the recommended fan, but the next size up I guess. I'm not sure what specific specs to compare aside from CFM. Any advice? Thanks again for the help. I'm having internet issues, but it loo...

Re: cooling your tent or van

If I use a 240 CFM fan would that be too much air for the bucket method? It's all the local store had. This is it. Maybe add more padding to offset the increased air flow? Thanks for the help. It's not the CFM as much as it is the pressure the fan builds for sucking air through the pads. For some r...

Re: cooling your tent or van

This is probably a dumb question, but if I'm going to build a swamp cooler would I want that big hole sealed shut or would it be okay if it was open/filtered? Well it's your yurt, do you want it exposed to the elements? People often build yurts in order to isolate their sleeping quarters from the p...

Re: cooling your tent or van

After reading the original posts and pages upon pages of comments new and old, I still have a few questions that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I wish I started this project earlier, but I only have a couple of days before we need to pack the truck so I'm starting to get anxious. Second year b...

Hexiyurt Questions

Hi All- Second time burner here. I bought a used hexiyurt last year- it's been on the play in 2015 and 2016, and I'll be using it again this year. The bi-filament tape wasn't covered in foil so it peels off pretty easily. My Question: do I need to re-tape it with bi-filament tape, or could I leave i...
