I might be able to help take care of some of the programming stuff for the sign up process, but we would need to have a good understanding of what is needed.

Yeah, I'm gonna stick grommets into it I think. And after hauling around pounds and pound of steel, 75 lbs for 14x48 doesn't seem too bad

kevin, did you get yours for free? Did they just let you come pick some up when you called?

You still don't fucking get it. no truer words have been spoken. I get it, but the fact of the matter is, these companies are always going to be comming to the org. The org can take advantage of it and change things. Ahhh forget it. I think many just dont get it. You don't "change things" at ...

In the third article originally linked there is a table comparing Burning Man to the XBox 360 release party. One of the entries contained "Barter economy, very little commerce allowed, random acts of gift-giving strongly encouraged, socialistic, anti-capitalistic bent to festivities" for burning man...

We took the mantra of Burning Man meets E3. Burning Man is a journey, you go and it's a lifestyle, and you're willing to travel to enjoy that lifestyle. E3 is of course about the incredible immersion you get in games. You bring the two together but you do it for a consumer. That made me feel dirty ...

I've seen TERRIFIC results with billboard vinyl...Ask my friend Martiansky, who whipped up a 2V-9RAD and custom vinyl cover (with Ultimate Fighter graphics!) in no time. Helluva job. I'm thinking of trying it myself- I've been old-school silver tarps up 'til now. (For interesting results also look ...

Cool. I'll definately make a few calls once I'm ready to do the work. I was thinking that I could just cut them up into hexagon patches (assemble a hexagon and use it for a pattern), and slap in some gromets at the vertexes. Now I just gotta figure out where I'd have the space to do it at... One thi...

I think you are better off with the cloth on the ground, or raised slightly above the ground (1-2 ft). Maybe stick a section of rebar every 5 pixels or so, and run some twine or parachute cord between them. The dome and large shade structure ideas seem great, but seem to increase the complexity of t...

Moving right along! I went out last night to a buddy's metal shop and started squishing!! He has an arbor press (it's big, 2 ton or 3 ton maybe?) and everything went relatively quickly. I just took 20 struts out to see how things went. Every Thursday night it's an open shop and about a dozen people ...

So where do I get these imfamous billboard vinyls? Do I just call up one of those "advertise here" numbers and ask about them? I still don't know which direction I'll take. Dome Covering

Ok... I'm currently building the frame, and not excited about spending even more money to cover the thing (Don't get me wrong, this is gonna kick ass..). From reading past threads, it seems my best bets for covering the dome inexpensively are tarps, old billboard canvases, or sheets from goodwill. I...

Hey, Regional Chaos: I was just over at the JoAnn's Fabric on River Road tonight. Go to the back wall and there's all kinds of cotton fabrics for $2 - $5 a yard. Not bad. Have you been out to Econo Sales in Springfield? Thats where I got some cheap wool for a project last year. I'll be hitting that...

Fortunately, war wouldn't be in the picture. 100 people could easily come to at least a tolerance level of relations. In fact, you could have twice that many and still reasonably get along. Sure, there'd be words and possibly fisticuffs, but it likely wouldn't go past that because everyone would kn...

Also, we have found that it always works better to go places (BM or elsewhere) with an open mind and ready to experience the time and place, with minimal expectations. To go with the expectation that you will have the experience of a lifetime only sets you up for failure before you ever arrive. Bin...

In general I think that drugs should be legalized and controlled, instead of outlawed so that the black market controls them. Meth however.... Meth is the drug that makes me re-think that attitude.
