I can add the FAQ questions to the project info page, but I'm not the best with layout. If someone does a mock up it is easy for me to mimic, or, sputnik could just edit it and tell me and I'll make sure to incorporate it into the code base. I finished this part. Just updated the about.php file. Gr...

Some thoughts. Herding kittens, that really want to be doing lots of things, but maybe not this, right now, right here... but, how about thursday dude? Ok, KISS satellite imagry 101. A water truck makes a 3 pixel wide image, as seen on the sat Imagry from 05. Ask the Sat Company, to give us a date/...

Yeah! That there's traffic on this thread can only mean that we're entering Preparation Season.... Entering! I've been preping since December! Maybe I was just a bit early  Anyway this is a great thread. I've really been thinking a lot lately about building a small scale power grid. Using a b...

The first year I went, my ticket and ride was gifted to me. I paid for food, water, a little gas and some thrift store goodies. Cheap. Maybe <250$? The second year I bought my ticket, had to replace some camp items (like my tent) and decided to bring a project (I rebuilt a 30 year old pool table). I...

Re: Illinois Nooby
.. I have an old conversion van that I use as a work truck and was wondering if I will be able to use it for storage and sleeping while I am there. I understand that the vehicles are not to be used during the event, but will it be in a place where I have reasonable access to it? How much space do I...

The prospect of Google giving information about me to the Bush maniacs, either voluntarily or by force, has me contemplating what my life might be like without Google. Same here. Which is a shame, I use a gmail address and I use google exclusively as a search engine. But I'm honestly not sure if I ...

Re: Fun things to do with an internet scammer?
I'm selling a vehicle online and I'm now a few weeks into the "fake check" scam" (they send you a check for more than the amount you've specified you deposit it, it initally clears your bank, you wire them the difference, the check they sent that initially cleared YOUR bank gets to "THEIR" bank (wh...

It's 'free' when nature drops it at elevation and we hold it up there - it's called hydro-eletric power and it's not a new idea. Having skimmed some of the sites that have been posted, I think that what CSS and others are working towards, is a way "catch lightning in a bottle". Similar in concept t...

Yes...But I'm still hashing out how to post pics to eplaya from here. I can email you something, though, once I've waded through the pics again. (*technopeasant*) You can use free image hosting sites like photobucket.com or imageshack.com to post your image. Then you can link to it from your post o...

I miss the squishing and drilling.... I'm in the throes of sewing a fitted cover for my dome out of canvas....I'd forgotten just how big it was. not easy to wrangle that much fabric in my kitchen. No shit... I'm planning on using triangle patches to cover my dome. I think I'll try and get billboard...

Re: a little follow up
Before last year's event I posted that I was hoping to do my first sober Burn instead of blacking out the whole thing like the year prior... Just wanted to put it out there that I spent ten days on the Playa in 2005 completely sober and had the time of my life. I am eternally grateful for the meeti...

I liked using the arbor press. The lever was at should height so it was relatively ergonomically correct. The smashed ends are nice and even. I smashed between 40-50 struts a night (almost every thursday). I now have all my struts (~175) cut and smashed. My buddy has a drill press right in the same ...
