Two weeks ago the condition was really good; unless you got too close to the big lake in the middle. There was a lake stretching from BRC north at least 10 miles. But around the edges was really good, especially the west side.

Should all dry out in 6 weeks...or BRC will be really long and thin!

You should also look around for a non-Theme Camp camp. Many people go in groups and camp together, but they aren't an "official registered Theme Camp". A Theme Camp usually requires a commitment to the Theme Camp activities, and you may not want that additional responsibility at your first Burning M...
I spent most of today buying parts and really thinking about the flame cannon. I think I have the controls and gas hose routing figured, the only part I am not sure of is the ignitor (probably use a spark of some kind - I have a piezo-style that works remotely, but I don't t...

The best is to join a Theme Camp, and arrive on Saturday! My schedule is to leave the Bay Area midnight or so on Friday, grab a few hours of sleep in a rest stop, and hit the playa Saturday afternoon. But you have to be part of an official registered Theme Camp, and be "on the list". But other than ...

Well, the quicky answers... 1) You have gotten to the BM website. Spend a couple of hours reading all kind of stuff here, and many of your questions will be answered. 2) The age range is young to not-young. There will be plenty of 18ish people, and other-ish people. 3) There are more tents than RVs,...

In the bay area there is a place in San Leandro that does salvage/recycled stuff. For Burning Man stuff it is perfect and way cheaper than Home Despot or any of those places. I can dig up the number and address if people are interested. (I have never been there, but projects I have been on have gott...

You might want to hook up with the Lake Lahontan Yacht Club?!

At least to make sure none of the divers get run over by their yachts!

Never had a problem, I can wear my disposables (Acuvue Advanced) for the whole week, including sleeping in them. But make sure to have plenty of rewetting drops, etc. And a clean place out of the wind if you need to mess with them, my tent was fine, but it zips up well. I would make sure to rewet a ...

Re: No comments?
You are all reading this but no one is replying.
I have always wondered when "retro" would come back around to Logan's Run! Are we going to have lots of chicks running around in "Runner" outfits this year? The 2006 theme does seem to put a push behind all the SciFi themes, espe...
