keep in the back of your mind the necessity of getting your vehicle to the playa. Drive it? keep the big motor. Tow it? Trailer it?

giggle search "24 volt ac brushless servo motor" and look at all the hits. also. Invacare will be less than helpful. They have proprietary systems, and a HUGE LIABILITY if they help someone cobble something together that may be used to propel a chair. You will likely have more luck building somethin...

comments on Casita: FoxFur has one.

Shortly after getting it home, it was discovered that the plywood floor had rotted where the walls are fiberglassed to the floor. Cut out the rot, replace with fiberglass. Days of smelly work in cubby holes.

Most of the highway truck scales in Oregon are not manned, but they leave the digital scales on, so you can drive over them slowly and do it yourself. We are usually slightly over gawr (gross axle weight rating) on the RV and ok on the trailer. rated RV gawr 5000 front, 9500 rear; trailer 3500. scal...

for a loner or small camp: Bring a funnel. You brought the water to the event in containers like plastic bottles, gallon jugs, 5 gallon totes, etc. Be very careful about how much grey water you create. Re-use water. And you have all the containers you brought to the playa to take your grey water awa...

worst of this scenario: raw meat in grocery store packaging (it is not totally sealed) floating in ice melt in the cooler. reach in with dirty hands and grab some ice cubes for a drink. now you have raw meat bacteria, etc. in your drink. RV generators are usually wired to something like an 'auto change over box' and then power goes to a small breaker panel under a bed or galley (hard to get at backside of the panel). the breaker panel has 15 and 20 amp breakers for outlets and AC. It is next to impossible to get power directly from ...

put a 12 quart dish pan in the bottom of your shower to stand in. catch the runoff and let it sit for a few hours so that the playa mud settles to the bottom then pour the water into your system. Set the pan with the mud outside to dry. This will keep your filters way cleaner. This also give you a c...
