Re: gas on rv - storage and amount extra is it 20 gal. max.

capt. thanx for the update on the gmc/olds transaxle. My info was dated from '70s gm training on that transaxle. Corporate probably didn't want to spell out all the possible work arounds. They ain't gonna say you can put a cad motor in your olds.! or that you can put a small block 327/350/400 in a 1...

Re: Electric tricycle motor

I use wheelchair motors for a lot of my projects. The brake is spring applied, electrically released. The easiest way I have found to treat these is to remove coupling from the end of the shaft that holds the disc. 2 screws and a setscrew. The brass looking nut in the picture above on the shaft is t...

Re: Electric tricycle motor

stick with the TEFC motor. They are rated to put out that horsepower in an industrial work environment. They will put out about 2x horsepower at 1/2 rated rpm and 2x rated current for short times like 15 - 30 seconds. I built a battlebot with 2 similar motors but 1/2 hp and 10:1 gearing 12" diameter...

Re: Countering blue flag abuse?

I believe that the folks that survey and layout the city use blue flags to mark the streets, and that also coincides with camps in some places. As an example, the village Black Rock Power Co-op had a full block and lots of blue flags along the streets. Placement did not care how the village was divi...

I am sure if it was good enough for the Port of Oakland, it will be adequate warning for the citizens of BRC. Re: Gifting Ride To/From PNW to BRC and a Bunk for the Week

We travel from Portland with a rental RV towing a utility trailer. The RV has a ford v-10 with tow haul mode which keeps it in lower gears by delaying upshifts. Cedar Pass is second gear going up AND down, about 35 ~ 40. There are a couple hill closer to Gelach that get the same slow speed.

take a close look at DrIKnow's pictures. In the black and white picture, that is a guaranteed knuckle buster if loosening ( same in the color picture. Don't aim your knuckles at something to hit. Do it open palmed so when it all goes to crap, or comes loose, you don't mash your fingers. Also notice ...

hell for stout solution is steel T shaped fence posts. drive them in next to the EMT corners, wrap leg and post together with plastic (saran or ?) wrap then duct tape. the plastic wrap keeps thing from turning into a gooey mess

would you build an uninsured project? especially if you have anything to lose if something happens and you have a claim filed against you?

Re: How stretchy is aluminet, anyway? (making a scale model)

actually the amount of stretch will make little difference in the amount to buy, but will affect seam allowances for final fit. Be aware that the major users of aluminet are huge commercial greenhouses and they have or will order very soon. Do not delay ordering what you need
