Re: Eric: explain how people are bodily forced to Reno

No one is kidnapped and taken to Reno, but you are certainly not allowed entry. You are trespassed by the Sheriff and sent away, I suppose instead of saying "your sent to Reno" it should be "Your sent to Winnemucca, Reno, or Cedarville, but you cant stay here..." (depending on whatever route you tak...

Re: Extending Electric Mutant Range Using On-Board Generator

Sounds like you have a golf cart. I've been doing some research, and if you can bypass some of the relays, you can run it on lower voltage. Example: if it will go 15 mph on 36 volts, it will do 10 mph on 24 volts, and 5 mph on 12 volts. This might give you the option for a more powerful 12 volt cha...

also - if you looking for volume, pass on frying pans for sandwiches. one of those toasters with the conveyer belt makes grilled cheese sandwiches as fast as you can load it. Ham and cheese, turkey? it does not matter. Once the heat and speed are perfect feed it bread with cheese on it your set.

WTF?

this makes little sense - would it not be easier for BMORG to simply sell the tickets to whom they wanted to begin with? there is no need for a pretend system to cause drama.

Like Trilo - it has its ups and downs. I always have the loftiest of plans for BM in November and December, it tapers off in Jan-May, then by August I am running in circles again catching up. More than one year I have said "Im done" just to find myself diving back in. Your mileage may vary as well.

Re: How well do RV refrigerators work on the playa?

It sounds crude, but try this: take a piece of wood or a rubber mallet and beat on the tubes on the back of the fridge. A lot of times that will unclog an ammonia fridge and make it start cooling again. Try to beat it hard enough to shake it up but not hard enough to break it. Said beating is a fin...

Mod hat off: The same questions were raised when HGH took over for REMSA. When it comes to Staffing you will see many of the same faces that worked for REMSA then worked for HGH and will inevitably work for CRX. A lot of vetting went into CRX by professionals in the industry with patient care at the...

Re: Tiny gas generator

a decent alternator from a junkyard can easily put out 90-120 amps, just look at the rating on the side as you dig through the yard. Couple that to a 3 or 4 hp 4 stroke motor and you can charge batteries easily. We have built these in the past fairly cheap. Used lawnmowers make good motors and are p...

I would advocate it is the lesser of two evils...especially for the first several hundred people that barely missed the cut off. So the, say 59,500 people in line past the first several hundred are just cut out of any chance at STEP? Or do you put all 60,000 that missed tickets in? Most importantly...

Please do not transport gasoline inside your RV living area. Every year I respond to incidents of people passing out from fumes, or car wrecks with fuel inside that has gotten everywhere. Sometimes it burns, most times were lucky. If your not using your trailer hitch build or get a platform for it. ...

I have to disagree with Rice - You dont have to go to Reno - Your just not getting into BMAN after trying to smuggle someone in. When I bring my RV all of the advice given above is pretty sage. Leave room for one of the volunteers to poke around. Sometimes its a search, other times its a breeze. You...

Re the battery leak - a battery isolating switch is sometimes the easiest solution over beating your head on the dash trying to track an errant circuit. Also makes stealing your rig that much more difficult.
