Re: RV: To purchase or not ...

I would have to disagree with you - depending on your price points and usage buying an RV was the best decision we made for BM and our family to use. Storing it off season? 222 a month to park it seems ridiculously high. and 100 a month in fuel to keep the batteries charged and bearings lubricated? ...

the gas "poppers" or puff balls, are a pretty good bump and often happen right behind you unexpectedly. Clandestine and unplanned fireworks happen but are not the norm. Friday and Saturday are definitely the biggest nights for fireworks. Plan accordingly.

Re: Theme Camp Requirement- Fire Lanes

If there is a large fire that is wind driven from camp to camp worst case - or requires one of our tenders from Station 5 out by the airport they are as big as the water trucks, cant turn worth a shit and will be making it rain in force. Common sense goes a long ways.

tips? The devil is in the details. By that I mean the big things like Shade, Tents, Food get looked at by everyone. The little things are what bite you. Coolers, hammers for stakes, night lights, bicycle tire repair kit, spare glasses instead of contacts, contact solution, tampons, chapstick, chocol...

Re: Theme Camp Requirement- Fire Lanes

We need access to get engines in as well as an ambulance. While our QRV units can weave and wind their way around alot of stuff - some camps are monstrous. Often though for many calls we need to transport horizontally or need ALS support for a particular call. Leaving some room to get gear in and ou...

Re: RV Recommendations

Boise as well as Portland are often overlooked spots for Rentals but are viable options. You can still get RVs there from my hasty internet search online just minutes ago. Salt Lake City as well. Nor Cal is pretty booked out by now i am sure.

Good luck

Re: Any advice on where to buy Temporary RV Insurance

You can't insure something you do not have an ownership interest in. When you insure a rental RV, car, etc you are reimbursing the insurance cost plus profit to the owner. It sounds like your RV owner is not in the rental business. He may be able to add you as an additional driver to his insurance....

Re: How long to sell out? A little ticket day fun.

Gotta offer up a prize to be delivered at BMAN to play. At the 2015 M&G makes most sense to collect your bootie. Does that make th above guesses with no booty offered void? I'll bring a selection of aussie snacks and I guess 35 minutes. How will we know when it's officially sold out though? Whose w...

So - correct if i am wrong this is what it looks like to me... Those that offered up a prize and guessed closest to the 80:00 that is floating around as the final sale. So: MDMF007 = 19:30 - Way off. BMAN Necklace. Vulture Chow = 22:30 Closer, but pshaw Nope. Bizarre Crochet creation. Lucky 420 = 24...

Re: Dutch Auctions are the answer for how tickets should wor

We get your point, truly. You think the system is broken and propose stifling sales by increasing the price to do so. Normally this would work, but this is an emotionally driven scheme - The tickets will sell at any price all this scheme does is screw people for no reason. Want to stifle sales? make...

Re: Dutch Auctions are the answer for how tickets should wor

Um, "the tickets will be gone in an hour" is not how a Dutch auction works. Or a more basic 2nd price sealed bid multi-item auction. There is no time constraint really, unless you are bidding near the final price and it is announced that they might decide who among those in a last place tie gets th...

You offer up 50,000 tickets at 1000 each and they will still all be gone in one day. Now only those that can spend a 1000 on a ticket are going.

Remember, a place in the queue is not a guarantee of tickets. That's just an estimate of how long it will take you to go from your current place in the virtual queue to the ticket transaction engine. If the supply runs out before that time... yeah. Fingers crossed for smooth sailing now that the ea...
