Friday through Sunday, not so much I was filled with sadness that I can't yet pinpoint all the reasons for from Friday morning to Sunday morning. I spent Saturday trying to reconnect with a few souls with varying success - but had to stop every so often to just cry. It was cathartic in it's own way...

Herself - for putting back in the crush thread (and for her posts in general)
Karma - killer smile and the tuaca (sp?)
Booker - those coveralls are a perfectly adorable costume
Doc Pyro - The host with the most - and that fuzzy "love" poncho was pretty cute

There will no doubt be more to follow...

Is this really the time to take a jaded, cynical, snotty posture?
This is the natural posture of some people. I wouldn't change them if I could.

Compassion is one thing. Turning Burning Man into an event that caters entirely to the lowest common denominator is another.

feeling that it was not in the spirit of Burning Man to lock anyone out of a camp for a so called special party at ANY time So... if you create a theme camp you have to be spread-eagle open to the public every freaking moment so no-one is *ever* dissapointed? If I created a theme camp I wouldn't wa...

I'd be interested to hear more on the issue - I actually felt that overall the police presence seemed mellower and less pervasive this year than the last couple of years. My perceptions, however, could be skewed (they usually are).

Start an "adopt a post" campaign. Get people to commit to, in some way, lighting or reflecting one or two neighborhood posts and encourage them to take credit for it ("this post adopted by _____"). Those things could be turned into art . Hell, maybe I'll organize it... though at the moment I don't f...

Re: ticketless burners, gatekeepers, and money

that penalty should be pre-determined by the community and applied uniformly. if it is possible for gatekeepers to abuse their position by taking bribes from would-be stow-aways, then corruptable people will soon find out and become gatekeepers. the day may come when some gatekeepers run a side rac...

#3) a video camera and video projection system that turned my live image into an impressionistic painting. Then as I flapped my arms I became covered with feathers, then my whole body became built out of rotating gears.
Just off of Bollywood yes? This blew my mind in a really good way.

Re: Ideas for 2004...

large, sharp metal stakes with absolutely no lighting or anything. This is insanity. I had never really noticed the damn things before... but this year my husband and I both managed to wrap ourselves around one within 10 minutes of eachother. Resulted in some pretty vivid and interesting bruises.

I'll probably have to add more as my mind settles back down (and after I've gotten some sleep). Thank you Tiara for organizing the greeter shift. I never imagined it would be *that* fun. Thank you Doc Pyro for hosting the meet and greet and Thanks to Friendly Jen for running the romp. What a great n...

Thanks Booker and back atcha. And thank you to EVERYONE who let me fuck with their identities. It may not have been all that fun for all of you, but I sure as hell had a good time and it gave me a good excuse to not be my usual wallflower self (No, really. My fallback position is to be shy.)
