What Trilo said. The process is not optimal, where people are invited to invest time and money (and build great hopes), then to be subjected to being crushed by a DMV volunteer based on their subjective view of what is cool (and safe, of course, which I agree is mandatory). What I would suggest woul...

Pretty funny, and that proves I was wrong. What was that old Elvis song...?

"Now and then, there's a fool such as I"

But enough of this eplaya thang. Are we there yet?

Live Bands Performance Schedules?

I thought I would start this thread so people could post scheduled performances of musical groups performing live at BRC. (Like the handy DJ Lineups thread that meyouseek started). I know the Golden Cafe will be having live music, and the Havana Room. Transmorphagon will have lots of live music, wit...

That's great you posted the song list. You've got lots of cool stuff in there that I hadn't heard and I was thinking it would be nice to know. An eplaya serendipity moment, I guess!

Thanks again!

Hi Knuckles, Nice work! I've been listening to your mixes at work and I think you've increased my efficiency (or at least elevated my mood). I don't have a stage for you, but I wanted to say thanks, I dig it, and please post again if you get some gigs lined up and I'll try to make it. If you don't m...

[quote="Teo del Fuego"] I know I will get my trousers thoroughly singed for this post, but I wish people could come to the Playa to recharge their creative juices and to totally escape Defaultia. Turn off NPR and the nightly parade of horror and have a mai Tai with me. M'Kay? We can all be deadly se...

Well, I guess your bullshit meters are more sophisticated than mine! I actually thought it was a post from an enthusiastic fan. I guess unfriendliness is sometimes warranted. Thanks all, especially Trilo and Teo. If anyone has any bridges to sell, preferably in Brooklyn, drop me a line. My new playa...

Sheesh. I won't profess to proclaim what is Burning-man behavior and what is not, but I know unfriendly when I see it. Thanks for the heads up about Lee Kalt. I appreciate it, and it's too bad some people have to be snarky and negative. There's more of that on eplaya than there seems to be on the ac...

I'm sorry you're going through this, Allison. I feel a connection to you even though we'll probably never meet. Burner connections are sometimes like that, and so remember you always have a community and you're connected, even if it feels like you're not. Almost everyone at the Burn has experienced ...

Chaotic, to be sure. But I think there is a bit of a tendency for the wind to blow from the west, towards the east. As for shade, it's always nice, but good morning shade is most important so you can sleep in.

I agree with the comments of others, especially Teo. (and I always wondered what that Kick Ass Oral Sex thing was about...maybe someone can explain oral sex to me this year). Some of the things that sound cool aren't. I'm sure many of them are cool but even when it's kind of lame, it's still fun wit...

Hi Mr. Rogers, I really like your music! There's a chance I might have a place for you to play. Maybe in the art car we're working on. I'll let you know for sure once I know. Re: Burn Friendly Musicians

Hi C3, I/we might be interested in doing something. I live in Novato, CA, and have an original funky rock band, but so far my bandmates haven't confirmed they'll be able to go. I do the writing for the band, and on those playa nights I'm full of sudden inspiration. So I'd love to have the ability to...

Great live, original music: Free Peoples

Last year I saw a truly great band called Free Peoples at Easel Park Camp. They play original music. It's organic, very diverse. Great songs, lyrics and arrangements and outstanding musicianship and cool people too, of course. People were pretty much blown away by the band last year and everybody se...
