Re: A point of clarification to you hippies and newbies

Asking to borrow stuff, while technically interacting with other members of the community, is NOT participating You mean, I can't tell you how awesome your costume looks and sit down for dinner? That's bull! BTW, I just used your camp's shower. Since you have a small evap pond, I can take a five ga...

I can only recommend this one:

Great ventilation on your back, so you won't get all sweaty.

Just bring something extra of the things that you bring for yourself. If you have a spare bandana and goggles in a dust storm, you're a fucking hero gifter.

I fully agree. Listen to your body, your doctor and your gut feeling. Don't listen to us, for all you know we're just a bunch of drunks with access to the internet.

Didn't feel that risky to me, at least physically. Mentally, yes, I would guess EMTs are just as likely as doctors to become alcoholics or pill abusers after all the shit they see (figurative shit, even though you do see more literal shit than you wish).

Re: Shave your balls NOW !!

FIrst: if you use an electric shaver, you have enough issues without shaving your balls now. Second: I dry shave with a splash of witch hazel. And use a razor you've already shaved with because this reduces razor burn. Bah. Real men use a straight razor. Also, you'll be extra careful then too. Witc...

Re: I'm a Dead Horse!...Beat Me!

I need a miracle! Can anyone please tell me where "Miracle Camp" is? Mirarcle camps are typically lines of brown or blue booths (much like phone booths). Miraculous things happen inside, and if you reach in for your luck, the things you'll find exceed your imagination. Be aware though, there are of...

Re: Debating whether to go this year, advice for a noob welc

It's better to regret things you have done than to regret things you haven't done. Work as an EMT for a while, then you'll meet many people heavily regretting things they've done. Taking risks is fun all you risk is looking like a fool or damaging $2000 equipment, but when it comes to life-threaten...

A sparkle pony is the person that brought 15 full outfits, 8 different types of lipgloss, glitter for the entire block, but forgot about that water/dustmask/sleepingbag thing.

Re: Debating whether to go this year, advice for a noob welc

I don't remember where I saw that, but there was a statistic about injuries at Burning Man. If I remember correctly, leading were cuts and sprained ankles, followed by dehydration. One thing that you should look out for is tripping hazards - lots of ropes and rebar on the ground. And it is perfectly...

Re: Covering tent mesh

My advice: forget about it, dust will enter your tent anyway. Don't waste any time taping and sealing, just get a big plastic tub with a lid and put all your things in there. Roll up your sleeping bag when you're not using it. Been there, done that. Taping mylar to the outside of your tent is a good...

While I didn't see this at Burning Man, I saw a suspension show at Nowhere (the Spain regional) and I thought it was beautiful.

I find certain people's testicles a much more unpleasant sight than suspension. And it's really not as bloody as it sounds.

As far as I know, the piece is called "Inner Mind". I don't know any details, but my guess would be that it was taken down on thursday because of the dust storm (possible damage?).
