Re: Ticket Sales Tips

I have been hunting for a while and I have run across many scammers. They typically want you to send them money that cannot be recovered. Western Union, etc.

I would continue to try to contact them. I have heard of people with lost tickets getting their first tickets voided and then being able to willcall.

Re: Still haven't gotten your tickets?

Even if they allowed you to do it that way, they would have been sol out by the time you got around to the second card. Both my lady and I registered and tried to get tickets and they were sold out by the time her 4 minute wait in line had passed. Edit: If you do not want to go alone I'll take the t...

Re: Motorizing my Trike

1HP ( about 750 watts) is still considered "electric assist" even though at playa speeds (5mph) it can run for short periods without the actual assistance from a person, though if you pedal you'll get a lot more battery life. As far as I know it should't matter if it's in the hub or not. It would be...

Motorizing my Trike

I've been bringing along a 3 wheeler for the last few years and now I'm looking to add an electric motor. I'm looking for advice or things that have worked for others. It's a two-seater trike and some times someone hops on the back too so I'm looking to add a 1HP motor. I like minimal and efficient ...

Re: Burning Man 2013 Tickets Info

I think up to this point they have been open, and I'm not complaining about it, I was just responding to the point said that they don't owe the community any info, which I also agreed with; I just think that it might be a bad idea. Their openness up to this point is evidence that they have not been ...

Usually if you change your password to a strong password you should be ok. A lot of those guys who hack accounts will use a dictionary based attack to check peoples passwords or just try random combinations of lowercase letters. They send out the mails based on the contacts and e-mail addresses in y...

Re: Burning Man 2013 Tickets Info

Sounds like they did a good job with a ticketing plan. Last year split my camp up because of the fiasco, so many people just said "Fuck it; I'm doing something else". Trilobyte - While I agree with your premise that bmorg does not have to explain their expenses, if they want to maintain a community ...

I am looking to get some burningman stickers. If anyone is willing to send a sticker or two I'll mail you a self addressed stamped envelope so you can plop in a sticker and drop it in the mail. If you PM or e-mail me your address I'll send you the envelope. The backstory: We have some stickers colle...

You need to pre-register for handicapped permits? That's some bullshit. I don't know about Nevada law but I'm pretty sure they couldn't get away with that in California. Is this a car battery? If it is you don't need any of those charge controllers. 1amp (which is what your panel produces) isn't enough to do any damage to a typical car battery or deep cycle car battery which is hopefully what you're using. Just hook it up like you're both charging the battery and li...

It's not that the wire will instantaneously overheat with inrush, it's that the compressor may overload if the voltage is too low. With a high inrush amp draw the voltage drop is likely going to be more than 1.5v, there is a chance the compressor won't start, especially if it cycles off then on and ...

The developed countries' electrical code is over designed. But that's good. I disagree with this. Sometimes if you just meet minimum code it's on the line of poor work. Code just makes sure that for a huge general category of things something is good enough. In many cases it's overkill because of t...

I'm asking exactly what is the problem with using a cable rated to say, 1350 watts with an 1000 watt appliance. There are no problems with that scenario. The problem is that this is not how electricians rate wire. It's rated in gauge. The gage is looked up on various tables based on ambient temp, a...

This is not commerce, I am not selling anything, or asking for any sort of profit. This depends on how you define "profit".
