Re: MINI monkey hut?

Schtev,
Is the reason you are wanting a smaller monkeyhut due to travel space or do you just want a smaller version?

Re: Bike Builders Unite

Nice ride, Tiahaar! Wish they had had those last year when I ordered the Beast for BM and then spent way more then another $100 on mods to it including adding front and rear hand brakes and changing out the rear cog for one that made it easier to pedal. Having multiple gears like the Dolomite wouldv...

Re: 20" Mongoose Massif for the vertically challenged?

I will add that the Beast is actually a pretty crappy bike for anything other than the playa. It's not usable for any sort of hill, it doesn't work that well off road, it's no good for commuting. But it's absolutely perfect for a dusty lake bed. True, I made many mods to my Blue Beastie including c...

Re: 20" Mongoose Massif for the vertically challenged?

I had a Beast last year and it was great for riding around. I made many an upgrade to it before it hit the dust. Thinking it would be nice to have another Beast I cruised the wallyworld site and spotted the Massif. PERFECT for us shorter folk! Wish they had had it last year I would've gotten 2 of th...

Re: Wailing & gnashing of teeth thread

RANT RANT!!! Maybe the traffic delays going to the event would be better if people wouldn't park their rvs and other vehicles sticking out into the roadway in all the little towns along the way in! That was why my sister and I and so many other vehicles were STOPPED along the road on our way in! An ...

Re: School Bus 101, long technical post

Although Id like to have a bus to take to BM, it doesn't seem feasable to drive it there from here in MN. Having it parked somewhere closer to the playa would work but then it sits the rest of the year or years for that matter and you wouldn't know if it was playa worthy when you go to drive it agai...

Re: School Bus 101, long technical post

Elliot,
How much buses going for in your neck of the woods?
There is one near me that is $3000 or BO.
It's an older one from the bus company I used to work for and now owned by a private party.

Re: CARAVANSARY

I loved the spaceship design last year. It was fun being able to climb up into and walk around in and then take a slide down.
Doesnt look like there will be interior access to this one. :(
Wonder how they will keep it stable in high winds?

I like the theme though.

A slight vibration? LOL!

Get some mag type spokeless wheels or at least some wheels that have heavy gauge spokes and/or a higher spoke count.

A lot of the Wallyworld stores now do not allow overnight RV parking.....
Our local store has signs posted all along the outer parking lot edges as to such.

Re: One Item for BM a Day

I replaced my headlight lenses on my truck. The old ones were very dull and yellowed. Polishing them with a kit didnt work so I opted to replace them. When my sister and I drove out this year we couldnt drive much at night because they were not bright enough and due to the fact that we had so much "...

I found 2 pairs of goggles and 2 light up bracelets that were supposed to make the journey this year, but somehow got misplaced and will go in a tote for the next burn.

^+1 What Ellorum said!! The kits are nice because you can use your exsisting bike frame. I used a kit on a frame I picked up to use exclusively as a trike, but you can easily use just about any bike frame you already have. Having a step-through type frame is nice if you've got one. You can take it ...
