Re: so who broke it this time?

I apologize for my rants...MySQL was so last week. This week it was Verisign giving me fits. On the bright side I know more about SSL's than I ever did. In any case my Ferrari vs. Fiat comparison still applies....I hope the eplaya team's experience goes smoother than mine did. And I'll try and shut ...

Re: so who broke it this time?

I'm very biased in favor of Microsoft. The app we're so freaking locked into gives us the option to go with either MySQL or MS Server 2005 / 2008. I listened to the engineers and went with MySQL against my better judgement and my descent into hell began. And truth be told it may still cost me a grea...

Re: so who broke it this time?

Glitches? Glitches that have put a major project on hold for 2 months over here until I demanded MySQL get scrapped and replaced. For the most part open source is great. But for what I'm doing it's been one of the biggest pains in the ass I've ever had to deal with...the hate I have for MySQL has be...

Re: so who broke it this time?

It's a Mickey Mouse type IT shop that uses MySQL. Seriously, it's the crapware that gets shipped with Indian software for those who are too cheap to run MSSQL. The fact that it's running the eplaya does not surprise me as the so called IT staff volunteers have a history of throwing the cheapest crap...

Re: NEW EPLAYA AND UPGRADES COMING

Spanky, you blew it. You blew away and exceeded all of my expectations. Compared to the eplaya 2.0 fiasco, this was a great rollout. Nicely done. Kudos to you and the entire team who pulled this one off. I've looked for flaws....and things to critique....and I've found NOTHING to bitch about with th...

After typing all of this, I think my position has changed a bit...maybe rather than a law, a public information campaign might be a better solution to changing peoples behavior on this issue. And this is how the change should start. Education. It will require a generational mindset change to help a...

Having seen the shame and ridicule given to kids in school who were uncut, there's no way I would put my child through that. Even in this day and age of anti-bullying efforts and pushes for tolerance...this is still a problem. American society is just not ready for the change yet. And I happen to pu...
