Been working on getting the house cleaned up for a roommate to move in on the 17th. Trash, trash everywhere. Its amazing how much junk one person can gather in three years of living in a house. He's also heading out to BM in 2004 so really his rent is more to pay for structures, bus, fuel costs, sup...

Aforceforgood, Ha! Thats funny! I'd go vegan but with all the GMO's in commercial fruits and vegetables I'm not sure thats the best choice either. Well, I guess its time to triple my garden space this winter and set up snares for wild game in my area. Can't trust those big agricultural companies lik...

So I'm the bad guy? Oh bloody well... Yup. It is full blown capitolism and consumerism and I'm responsible for it all. Capitolist piggy, eh? Arrogant? I state the facts, as in the truth, not bullshit name calling and character stabs. But if thats the game you want to play go right ahead since you ca...

Yes, Zulegonna it is about control. Controling the middle class American with threats and intimidation. Uh... don't fuck up Mr. Smith or we'll cancel your health care or send you packing with no health care for your family. The effect on the average worker is longer hours, more stress, more work, le...

Atrocities? You are from England and you speak vaguely of atrocities by my government? Sounds a little like the pot calling the kettle black. Can we discuss the atrocities by your government in the last 250 odd years? How about the atrocities in Palistine from 1918 to 1948? British troups murdering ...

KellY You, know, I'm really sorry you guys live in the world you do- that is, the world inside your head (Mexico and Japan dividing the U.S....all those little not-quite-black people must be league, eh?). Oil, Water, a Woman, a mis-spoke word... Be vigilant, be prepared, be armed, be ready to kill. Learn how to shoot a pistol, a rifle, and a shotgun and learn ho to clean them. The points made for "less is more" have been taken in consideration but as you can tell I'm not interested in a minimalist's approach. I'm also not interested in doing it like everybody else and thats the point I'm trying to make. I thought the Burning Man experience was an experiment in creativity ...

I want to finish my dome's struts differently than leaving them plain. Personal reasons nothing more or less. Galvanized and Aluminium primer works great on conduit. I've used it in construction and it works pretty damn good as a base for latex paints. POR 15 is another primer that works as well but...

Strut lenths from 10' piece of 3/4" conduit Actually measures at 10' 1/8 to 3/16" from Home Depot. Spend the extra 71 cents each piece for the 3/4" 2V Dome A= 5' 3 5/8" B= 4' 8 3/8" I used 5/16" bolts and it was necessary to drill holes at 3/8" for wiggle room. NO LESS THAN GRADE 5 BOLTS Actual meas...

First 16.5' Dome assembled!!!

Whoo whooo! Just got finished assembling my first 16.5' dome. I had to re-drill all the conduit pieces with a 3/8 drill bit to have a little more room for adjustment and settling. I had drilled 11/32" holes. I am using 5/16" by 2" bolts but had to run to Home Depot for a 4" all thread bolt to tighte...

Sure, I'll fix you a place at the table. What would you like to drink with your Fillet Menion, asparagus tips, fresh corn, tossed salad, mashed potatoes, homemade Irish Bannok bread, honey butter, and blueberry pie with homemade icecream for desert. Just follow your nose September 2nd.

Chai, I saw those polygon shelters also and considered the pvc poles to be to weak considering the span of some of pieces and the extreme conditions of the playa. But, I think if you were to build one using 1 1/4" conduit you probably could hang two or three people from the center verticies. And wha...
