Don Muerto wrote:Wait, you are saying we have timed edit in only certain areas of the eplaya?
You can edit everywhere that you can post, with the sole exception of the ePlaya Feedback --> Policy Discussion

You cannot edit (obviously) in Moderator Post Only forums.

Oh, right! Now I remember. It won't timestamp posts that aren't replied to yet. There's a quick MOD that timestamps all edits. I'll see if I can get that in there today.

To clarify:

Moderators can always edit and will not get timestamped.

The policy discussion forum is not editable. Mean what you say in there.

Spectabillis, you may want to try logging in as the void user to test editing/timestamps. I'll send you the details via email.

I tested it using the 'void' user. All was fine. I am seeing it no problem and it's working fine. Where have you tried using it?

I'm going to request this be moved over to Bug Reports.

Well, what do you know! It already has a timestamp :) So, it's live and running in the wild. Enjoy your edit feature!

EDIT in the pipe

OK, after the ETF meeting and much discussion, there timed edit feature is installed on DEV and being tested. It seems to work just fine, but we need to add the timestamp thingy that people requested.

Hang on and we'll have it up soon!

Spanky, I encourage you to read the Well's User Agreement. Only because I think you have a very different idea of the YOYOW than what either I or the Well means by 'ownership.' I might be wrong here but your post (noted above) suggests a very different interpretation of the concept than what i mean...

Sometimes a simple typo can change the word, which can change the entire meaning of a sentence. and for this, if you read above, is a subsequent post that add value to the board because it clarifies. Remember, I'm with you on edit - I think you should be able to edit for purposes of spelling etc. I...

Spanky, here's a technical side question about the limits of PHBPP's edit functions. What options are available to us? Is it as simple as you either turn it on or off? Can we set a timer, set it to allow edit until the next post hits (not a good thing in a fast environment)....what kinds of flexibl...

* How many posts do you estimate are simply post-typo corrections that exist because the inability to edit forces clarification in a subsequent post? See my post about typo-forgiveness. * Do these posts "add value" to the forum beyond the clarification they provide which would be available via edit...

I would be happy to moderate a case studies forum under ePlaya Feedback. I don't think it currently fits in any of the fora.

IF the consensus on the matter is to reimplement edit, I will do so. Perhaps some definition or illustration of that threshold or tipping point would be helpful? Well, since we don't vote, it's hard to define a "tipping point". It would be after a formal meeting discussion on the matter over pizza....

You are the one in charge of the final decision. Please do not portray us as equals in this. You uare so totally wrong on this. I do not have final say in anything nor do I pretend to. Because ownership of my words was taken away. Once I hit the "submit" button here, I have transferred ownership of the words to BMorg and they are no longer mine. Maybe you could take up splicing single frames of sex into movies and then show them on the playa. Then we wouldn't need Oral Sex Tuesday! ;)
