UPDATE: I'm home sick today and don't think I will get everything done, so I regret to say that the full re-opening will be tomorrow. I'll try to get some things done now, but it will take more time than I have.

Calsur:

We are going to reopen the ePlaya tomorrow. We will be working on it all day to get it into shape. I might not be completely done by the end of the day, but I'll do my best. I understand your concern which is why I am working on it non-stop. See you tomorrow!

Well, on my monitor, your example text just happens to be the same length as 70 d's which are not wrapped in the previous posts. Therefore the sliding stops at, coincidentally, the same place. Add more words to the sentence and it should wrap. And if it could wrap, it would (scroll up the thread). ~...

OK, so it adds a space to anything over 70, if your window is wide enough, there's just a space in the word, but if you resize horizontally, when you reach that space, it will break on the space and wrap nicely. 70 may be too much for some users. Let's wait-n-see if anyone asks for it to be lowered....

in other words the default width of 70 needs to add the spacing as characters... at least from my seat it does. If a word has more than 70 characters with no spaces in it, it is wrapped (I think). So my line has more than 70 characters, but there are plenty of spaces for it to wrap by itself. The p...

i don't think that's the right place to try to gain whitespace, though. there's other clutter that should go first... yeah, when I was sitting with AG today, we were trying to reduce the number of forums, but it got stuck at 18. I also thought of removing the little page icons, but they do a good j...

spanky: I saw this, and still think that it could be de-clutterfied a bit. Perhaps taking out the "forums" altogether?? People are smart enough to see that they're links and such... So, remove the word and leave the BR there for whitespace? I can see that. I liked how forum was black and bold and d...

so is this supposed to fix the width problem? I'm confused... Two things happened: 1. The header layout was restricting the width of the board. You could only resize the window (horizontally) so far, before it stopped sliding and you got horizontal scroll bars. Now it should get pretty narrow and a...

Am I going to need to moderate my own post for violating the ToS? Did I make a no-no reference? I considered it when I wrote it, but thought I was obscure enough and not trying to relate to the event or anything, but maybe I would like to go back and edit my post ;) now that I think about it. Ah fuck it, trying to pry the edit posts out of the other threads was really disruptive to the flow. I think we can all handle the conversation without that reference. AG had made a good point and Badger certainly had an opinion. So, let's fire it up in here! Look forward to hearing from everyone......

Edit Discussion

OK, OK, you called me out. Let's take up yet another topic! :) First off, there was a very lengthy and heated discussion a long time ago (I'm trying to find notes or something as to when/what/who) about Edit, and the consensus there was: 1. check your spelling first. 2. liberally use Preview. 3. edi...

Great feedback guys. AG and I went over the mockup, tried to clear up some of the text. I tried in opt4 to make it a little cleaner (for GE & III), incorporated some of the feedback about order. One thing: I'm no apostrophe whiz, but isn't "Greeter's" right? It's the station for all of the Greeters,...

Yes, images are still a problem, but there is also a MOD to deal with images. I took a look at it last week. Doesn't look too hard, but might have some server load issues. We'll see.

some concerns expressed re: layout Current concerns with Layout #3 vague areas allow for more organic development of discussion (a) the content of the sub fora isn't all that clear, especially to someone who is new to the event as well as the fora, and (b) i have a preference for letting divisions g...

Force Word Wrap Feedback

OK, I installed the Force Word Wrap MOD just now and would appreciate any feedback. Anything borken? It should wrap long words and long URLs. I also played with the header a bit to make it take up less vertical room, and slide horizontally better. Let me know if it looks ok to everyone. :) ~Spanky
