Re: Using Pallet Wrap to Cover 6V Dome

just use stretch fabric in various colours, it works fine. I did this in 08. We had a 20' dome, and we covered about 3/4 of it. All the fabric was cut into 10' lengths for manageability, then we tied a knot in the corner, and zip tied it to the dome, stretched it in place, and applied more zip ties....

Easy Up's are OK, if you replace the cover with something that allows air to flow thru, like camo net. I've had an Easy up with a 10'x10' section of camp net for 4 years on the playa, it's still going.

Re: Raffle vs. "Buy it now"

I know a few people who have not been lucky enough to enter STEP with a reasonable chance of getting a ticket, and a raffle is there best hope.

Plus from what i've seen from one raffle already completed, there is usually a pretty good chance of winning.

Re: Raffle vs. "Buy it now"

This whole thing almost makes me want to acquire some BM ticket and start a raffle myself for some obscene amount of profit, maybe for some " Human Fund " "good purpose" (though that is implied by the raffle). Then I'd waltz back onto ePlaya with some awesome fancy graphs of where I broke-even in m...

Re: thinking of running a little bar on playa got any tips?

For an igloo cooler drink concoction, we made 5 gallons of Mutant Punch for the Raider take over of the Booby Bar. Mix up 2.5 gallons of Tang, 3.5 liters of vodka (two handle bottles) and a bottle of blue curacao to give it a murky green color. Top igloo off with ice, about a bag and and a half. Si...

Re: Large Pole/Parachute Structures for lots of Tents

If you've already got a big parachute, then get yourself a couple sections of radio tower, or event trussing, stack then up to 20' tall, and with 3 or 4 really heavy duty ratchet straps anchor this tower into the ground pointing straight up. (You'll need some pretty heavy re-bar to anchor the ratche...

to the best of my knowledge Champion does not make quiet inverter type generators.

if you are replacing the generator hoping to reduce your noise output, then look into an inverter type generator. Honda's eu series is where it's at.

does anyone else not see the irony in having a lottery to ease the pressure of the first come first serve system, just to have first come first serve, for those that didn't win in the Lottery.
