Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012
So many knee jerk reactions, eplaya never ceases to amaze me. If you really want to go to burning man at this point in the year and buy your tickets early, you will go. If you are going to let this stop you, well, what can i say. Could/should there be some better system, of course, but you know what...

Re: I want to make a mutant vehicle for BM
I was talking to cap'n ron about another group who did something that was OK, but it was COMPLETELY different then their original submition. Consequently, a decent art car was denied. So, get a good idea and go with it. Besides that, there are four things you really need: 1. Money 2. Money 3. Time 4...

Re: "MaxCold" coolers - 5 days of ice?
We have two: one for ice and one for dry ice. Since we go in and out of the cooler(you know...actually using it), it lasts about three days. The dry ice lasts about 4-5 days. ymmv depending on your usage patters and precautions done to keep the cooler as cold and insulated as possible. Sometimes the...

Re: Shade Structures: Shade Mesh vs. Poly Tarps? What say yo
I have used various mixes of tarps and shade fabric. I do love the complete blackout with the tarp, but after some scary windstorms, I now lean towards shade fabric. If you have a small setup or a nice support lattice/structure, tarps can be a great way to keep cool if ventilation is thought about a...

This is the guide gear tent that i bought a couple of years ago. http://www.amazon.com/Guide-Gear-Double-Wigwam-Tent/dp/B003C4XIZA/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top If you reinforce it where the poles and tie downs meet, its pretty decent. replaced the center pole with 1"+ emt. Held up to the wind great in o...

So I want to build a nice STURDY tent. Here is my scale model. Wood dowels=2x4 straws=10ft 3/4" emt rope=used 8ml climbing rope or paracord or something. Walls are five feet high by 10 feet long. there is a center pole that is 10ft high. Fabric is not too much of a concern for us (10.1 canvas). The ...
