Re: The Bar 2017 Edition

I have a petty gripe. I flew in pre-event 2017 Friday to help with setup. Flew out Sunday. I drove back in on Wednesday of the event. The G&P guy made me cut all of the pre-event and flight bracelets. I handed them over to him, and he said I could keep them. I am guessing he just fucked with me, or...

Re: Hoping to Burn 2018!

Hey guys, I'm a Canadian, currently living in Calgary, and hoping to attend Burning Man this year! I was initially planning with a friend, but I dont think she can attend anymore. I can't let that stop me as I feel this is the year. I am starting a new job Monday and hoping for the best re: time of...

Re: Best thing you ever saw

Best thing I ever saw is an impossible decision. Best thing I saw in a single day might be easier.

But I have to say: the Friday sunset from the top of the Man's tower in 2008, right before they closed it for the rest of the week. It was a beautiful evening.

Re: Accept me for who I am

Thank you Savannah for your insight... helps so much...ty... Actually I recently sat down with my wife and explained exactly how BM has given me a new perspective on life. She admits it freaked her out when I came back from BM but rather likes the post BM me. She will prolly never go to BM with me ...

Re: Accept me for who I am

Went to BM this past year for the first time. Had a blast and would love to attend again. That being said it changed me in some way. I am totally open with who I am and never been more comfortable with who I am and what I have to offer. Unfortunately my family, friends and spouse are not as accepti...

Re: Emergency food

Emergency food/Camping food is always egregiously priced. I refuse to shell out for that--but I don't like cooking on the playa either. This is my favorite thread about quick, easy, normally priced food. Realistic non-cooler based menu planning https://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=35430 The...

Re: AJEEPGAL FROM CALI - VIRGIN BURNER

Well about your avatar, I took it!!!! :P Another question - Will there be room at camp for my jeep and small trailer or will I need to park them elsewhere? I ask because I will be sleeping in my jeep! So wanted to know if it would be near the camp or if I would have to leave it somewhere and go bac...

Re: The Bar 2017 Edition

At what point in a new relationship do you bring up the fact that you have been to Burning Man (six times) and know you are going to have to explain what Burning Man is? I always get good advice in a bar so that's why I'm here. I think I would bring it up on either the 1st date (when discussing hob...

. . . It didn't sound like she planned on driving it all over the playa; just that her jeep is part of her mythos. :D Stag Camp takes solo campers if 1) you know how to look after yourself, 2) don't need particular amenities other than social ties and a group shade, and 3) above all, are committed t...

Hey all! The season for cheap lights is fast approaching! . . . I love the after-Christmas sales. Last year I was picking up copper wire strands for 50 cents each! (I'll admit that's even cheaper than can usually be expected.) They lasted through 2 weeks of being wrapped around my bike frame, and ma...
