Word. Not just ridiculed; insulted, condescended to and treated inappropriately in some cases.

Re: Burning Man 2012 Tickets FAQ

If you can afford to, then register for the highest tier (it gives you a chance at tickets at each tier). The drawings are done in order, lowest to highest tier, so if you're fortunate enough to get awarded tickets at a lower tier then that is what you will be charged. When your name is drawn, you ...

Re: Wiki says 2012 tix capped at 56,500

If you read the information that's been on the Ticket Info page since mid-November, you'd see the breakdown. 3,000 tickets in the pre-sale, 40,000 tickets in the main sale, and an additional 10,000 tickets in the secondary sale in March (which will also contain any leftovers from the main sale). Th...

Re: Smackdown! GPE v. Greeters

I don't see Greeters as a frippery. PG&E is definitely more "official" and provides absolutely necessary functions that allow our city to exist but when I've worked as a Greeter I have given countless people directions, tons of important information, hooked them up with their placers, etc...lots of ...

They did, las year, you stupid bitch.

And btw, a show about stuff that is on the internet is still just stuff on the internet, not really stuff on TV.

Re: Curious about two apps with duplicate credit card number

No it will not. You can have multiple family members (or housemates) registering from the same address, but the name and credit card numbers must be unique. Perhaps you could use that card to purchase a pre-paid card to use for the additional registration. It's too bad it doesn't clarify this in th...

Just my two cents. Hide the ticket money under their pillow, POOF...... Now they can reg. for the lottery themselves........They will feel more selfreliant and you can still have givin your gift.No one doubts that there will be hoarding.....it's just worng... Hard to hide ticket money under their p...

Re: How many tickets are you registering for?

6 is statistically a lot more than 4.. especially if everyone else is gonna do it ..even lowballing it with people buying 25% more than they need.. that surely causes a sell out much quicker.. forcing people to the secondary market much sooner.. whether one gifts it or not is irrelevant when consid...

Curious about two apps with duplicate credit card numbers

The thread http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?f=290&t=52613&p=768358#p768358 brought up a question for me that I didn't think was appropriate for that thread. I don't see it addressed on the ticketing page or FAQ either. If a husband and wife both apply for two tickets (say the family has fo...

Re: How many tickets are you registering for?

Why in the world would your friends need to become more self-reliant, Minxy, when you've got their backs? Good point, trilo! However when this is something I can do to help them (they do other things to assist us during the year) it seems a fair trade of resources and energy. Very good point, howev...

Re: How many tickets are you registering for?

Bunch of greedy fucking bastards. Register for what you and your immediate family need, no more. If the event degenerates to hoarders and scalpers over-buying just in case, it probably is not worth attending. If like Minxy sez, buying tickets for folks that don't get their act together until too la...

Re: How many tickets are you registering for?

Will and I will probably be registered (with other non-Burner family member help) for at least 6 tickets. We have friends that are perennially poor and/or off in a mental never-never land of airheadedness and who ALWAYS are hitting us up for any extra tickets we have. We also like to have a gift tic...

What was the highest ticket price last year?? Didn't they do a spike on sales prices when they stopped the walk-in outlet sales? I may be remembering incorrectly. Re: Buy or retrofit electric bike/scooter for playa?

I believe the electric scooters WITH seats are technically "illegal" at the burn. If they have no seat, they are ok, unless the DMV rules have changed. I did really enjoy my bike, but some things to watch out for are: 1. They don't really go eight miles. They go eight miles if you use them only to f...

Jungle, you are stating things as fact that have not been stated by JRS. First, it repeatedly uses SINGULAR, not pleural. It is completely possible it is poorly worded, but AS WRITTEN, it says there is ONE registration period. It says, "You'll first register for the ticket lottery during a 2-week o...

Eric is incorrect. You can also get early access for volunteering for certain departments that need help before the event opens. You DO have to work for them, but you do get in early. Greeters, Gate and DPW come to mind,
