So people have to censor themselves to they don't potentially offend one of the other 50,000 burners?

I dunno, that just doesn't sound right to me.

This is only my second year and I don't want to see it go down like this. There's nothing quite like the shrill voice of one year's experience. Nice quote-hack. But seriously, do you have a point? I'm pretty disgusted right now. I have a feeling the rude treatment people get around here has some ki...

I skimmed the front page, and did a "find" for census, neither of which yielded results, which is why I asked. As for wasting your time, I didn't ask you, dickhead. Just STUPID canadians who aren't self reliant. I don't hate all people from wherever you're from, just ignorant assholes like yourself....

Evolution is by definition "for the better". Those who don't evolve with the environment around them become extinct.

2008 census results?

I filled out a huge questionnaire at center camp last year. I saw the afterburn report last week, but it didn't have census data in it. Anyone know where the census data ends up? Would be very interesting to see, as there were a lot of detailed questions in there! Thanks in advance. Can't wait to ge...

I agree the best gift is one from someone you connected with or that really means something. Trinkets from strangers don't really do much for me. On the night of the burn in 08, my girl and I ended up enchanted with magical potions, and in the tent talking dirty and trying to have sex. After an hour...

The part of rap that was suitable for going mainstream already has. The stuff you geezers are hating on, which would probably be 80's rap (it WAS crap) will never become popular. So don't worry about it! :p As for the electronic/techno/drum&bass/edm/trance/etc stuff you hear pumping out all over the...

only 3/4 of a year until Burning Man!!!

I miss Burning Man :(
But that's right, only 9 more months until we'll be packing up our vehicles and strapping on our bikes!

This thread is for everybody who considers themselves a Burner and everybody who considers Black Rock City their home, and everybody who misses Burning Man right now. :)

Those uddery girls look like they're chewing cud. Anyway, it's true that breastmilk is natural for humans, but only until we're out of toddlerhood. Adults aren't supposed to be drinking milk of any kind, evolutionarily speaking. Humans are the only race to drink another race's breastmilk. One reason...

I, too, find it wrong of anyone to badmouth an artist for sharing their talents, for free no less. I found the article well-written, but mostly wrong IMO. It sounds like the writer got paid by "the mainstream" to write something bad about Burning Man. Regarding the cig ash debate, I wouldn't like walking around in the playa dust with patches of black ground-in ash on it. I like that the place looks "clean" despite the dust, because it's uniform and untainted. Yes, the Burn at the end of the week is way messier, but that's at the END of the week. ...
