Hopefully our advanced technology will cause the naked savages to revere us as gods. Come enjoy the steampunk samovar and my collection of obsolete tools for airship maintenance. I'm already revered as a God. You may have heard of me. I'm kind of a big deal. Here are the first two Aerotone N...

Well, it's not brocade, but I've managed to make a black satiny kilt with an embroidered front satin panel and pearl snaps for the playa. I should look interesting walking with my wife as she wears the leather andmink Viking costume I've made for her. :D

I love my UK and will be adding more to the collection as soon as Christmas gets here. They aren't cheap, but they are extremely well made and cost less than half what a quality tartan would run you.

I'm sure it won't be original, but I was thinking that some striped cotton PJ's and a bath towel would make a great Arthur Dent costume for the playa and very "on theme" as well. I have several SCI FI costumes in the Bounty Hunter / Special Ops vein that would make a the Chupacabra Policia wimper an...

Re: gotta put my two cents in

as someone who painted aircraft for more than 4 years, I can tell you that leaving dirt on a surface that's to be painted is silly! The paint is FAR more likely to flake and peel than if you were to prepare the surface properly. No offense phyreseed, but the vehicle being painted here is not an air...

Is that like a cross between Mormon and Samoan? That's pretty deep. The whole Utah as a Mormon island state idea really speaks to man's futile attempts to achieve religous freedom and social acceptance in the modern world.

$10 a yard for silk?! Is it silk? That would look mighty swell with the Mink sporran I've got on the drawing board.

I have heard that comfort food is a really good idea as well as long as it isn't something like baked Alaska. When things get to be a little overwhelming it's nice to chill a bit with something comforting and grounding. For my wife it will most likely be cheese-its, I will have to bring peanut butte...

Ditto. I've started to look around for brocade fabrics to this end, but as I rarely sew anything but leather I should probably try one in an el-cheapo fabric before I invest in brocade. Can't wait to see the plans!

Well, if you aren't worried about resale value then painting would be the easiest/ most cost effective way to go. You can even use latex house paint! (exterior of course) The key to painting vehicles with latex paint, and in fact the best part, is that you should NOT wash the vehicle. The paint will...
