Re: Who is on the 4:30 spoke?

Hey Playasurfers, I know The Pier should be near 4:30 and Esplinade, I don't suppose it may sit in front of your camp,.....

Still waiting to hear from the org for the exact placement, but I could see a certain build crew being very happy having your camp and our art project so close together.

Re: The Pier

Yep, I am freaking the fuck out. The first little art panic attack is creeping up on me. Its a little funny how every year, no matter how much time and effort you spend preparing these last couple weeks are still pure madness. The Pier is almost done. We as a crew have a whole bunch of tasks that ar...

We thought a Panda in a tu-tu was a proper analogue for an irresponsible burner. Plus, sad sparkle ponies are hard to illustrate.

Re: Who is on the 4:30 spoke?

NyxValentine: Pier Support Camp is a block back on B and 4:30. I have been bringing a truly evil bottle of Habenero Tequila for a couple years now. And it seems that may be right up your camps alley. Can we bring our small army of fire spinners your way?

BRCU at 4:30 and A.

Re: Has Your Camp Been Placed Yet ??

Pier Support Camp: 4:30 and B. We should have a whole lot of top tier fire spinning, and some rocking food.

Black Rock Center for Unlearning: 4:30 and A. Lots of brain unwashing shenanigans. Mostly drinking till you forget, ohh and my Lucid Dreaming workshop on Tuesday at 1.

Re: The Pier

Thanks Bob. We just started to hit it with a really watered down Grey wash and its looking pretty good. I think we have finally got the look we wanted :). My only complaint is we just don't have the man power to grind the entire length of the 4x6 beams. I am getting sooooooo excited. This Pier is go...

Re: The Pier

Not the color we want. Its easy to age wood to a pleasing furniture aged color. A little harder to get sun bleached neglected for 50 years. :(.

Re: The Pier

Thanks Bob. We tried a really diluted white wash but we lost too much contrast.

I think we are going to try a grey stain. We have a friend with an excess of used stain, so hopefully that will work.

10ft. At the very end. Clearance should be about 9ft 2in at the end. We have been working all week to make the 4x6's look another 100 years older. Properly fucking exausted. Anyone know of a good staining option that will grey the wood but keep the contrast (whitewash isn't working, neither is a bak...

Dustdevil: I think in those circumstances its fine. I have never been a big fan of contracts and absolutes. Each situation is different. I tend to apply what I said to 90% of the cases, I am sure there will always be cases that merit a different interpretation. I didn't want to sound like I was comi...

That stuff is exactly what we are looking for. I am trying to think of a way to get it here before the Burn so that we can incorporate it into the art properly.

Delle: Don't judge the Burn too much based on this forum. There is a special kind of snark that gets thrown around here. Its kinda like a boys locker room, except the boys have taken too many drugs and are just pretending they are snarky, when in the real world they are really very nice gentle peopl...
