Re: The Car Thread

For the past few years I've been a member of a automotive research forum and made a few bucks (Amazon gift cards) participating in their surveys. I received an email this morning stating that my vehicles no longer qualify me to be a member of the forum - 2004 Acura MDX and 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon...

Re: Thanksgiving - family diversity

We have obese as well. My niece, who is huge, and I mean huge, married a guy from Afghanistan. She converted to Islam and for a while wore a burka. She looked like a huge black tent floating down the street. She was shunned by the most of the family. My wife and I were the only ones, other than her ...

Thanksgiving - family diversity

It's been many years since we have had a family gathering. Looks like it may happen this Thanksgiving. It wasn't until I were looking at who was coming that I realized how diversified my family is. Back in the early forties when I was born my parents were very WASP and definitely prejudiced. My firs...

Fuck fuck fuck. I don't watch TV except for the the local and national news. A number of people have been telling me about the series The Walking Dead. I made the mistake of watching the first episode Friday evening. Since then I have watched the next 24 episodes. I'm addicted! FUCK.

Re: Removing parking pass sticker from windshield

Just outside Empire a vehicle coming back on to the road kicked up a good size rock which cracked my windshield. When I had the windshield replaced one of the guys doing the job handed me what was left of my parking pass asking if I wanted it for a souvenir :D

Re: Exit from Defaultia

Thanks - some day I'll take the time to play with Photoshop. My current project, at least for today, is to try to figure out why my Jeep is lost. Exit from Defaultia

Was doing some four wheeling and geocaching in Arizona today. This was the exit I took from Defaultia. I must have taken a half dozen pictures of this sign and eveyone of them caught the tail end of a car passing. My timing was lousy  https://scontent-a-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/1...

Beware the Mellow Yellow - about 4.7% of the world slip and die on a banana peel a day (usually slip and fall on concrete or something hard which is what kills them). Found on the internet so it must be true :D

I remembered the zip ties but forgot a pair of dykes to cut them off with. Luckily ne of my neighbors had a pair. I try to snag a wifi connection the first day to let my wife know I made it to the Playa safely. Then I turn off the phone and lock it in up in the center console for the rest of the week. If it was your wifi I used - thanks for the connection.

Re: Food/Drink: What worked - what didnt

For a couple of my dinners I used the Mountain House dehydrated meals. While they tasted fairly decent, volume wise they were a bit too much. After reading the label I saw why. They were meant for two people. Next year I'll buy individual packages from somewhere other than Costco. Decent price but a...
