There was a rumor last year that there had been an incident at Greeters in which a greeter had gone off on a burner. I was never able to confirm it asbeing true or false. I also heard that a person at gate had been nice to a burner but that is too far fetched to believe.

I am absolutely shocked by the number of burners who advocate the legalization of drugs. One would think that possibly a few of them actually use these drugs. Please tell me this is not true.

Clean Coal the Power of the Future

There was a proposal by Sempra Energy to build a huge coal powered generator a few miles west of Gerlach. A lot of people put in much time and effort and Sempra abandoned the idea. When you go to Burning Man breath deep, you breathing pure clean air (with a little playa dust) and no clean coal.

The small communities are serious about their speed limits. They tend to have a 25 mph speed limit for a mile or two beyond the first sign of habitation. When you get close to a town lookfor the signs and slow down, 25 is manditory 23 is better. The speed limit in school zones is 15 that's fifteen k...

Scotto's directions are really good although a bit dated. The speed limit in most small towns in Nevada is 25 mph. Some localities are more active in the enforcement than others but I suspect that some are using speeding tickets to help the local budgets. The reservations also have strict speed limi...

If you go through Vegas there is no need to go through Reno. 95 goes through Fernley from there just take 445 to Gerlach. Fernley is your last chance to stock up and get gas.

A dozen or so charcoal brickettes under the pot and another half dozen on the lid will provide enough heat to cook most anything. There are several guides to cast iron, dutch oven cooking available. Be sure to season it well before using it.

I've had good luck with a little cheap ass umbrella tent, easy to put up and no great loss if something happens to it, I use the big yellow tent pegs which hold it securely especiallly if I put some weight in the tent.
