You could also transfer to the University of California system. That way, you'll be way closer to the playa and you'll be on the quarter system, which doesn't get back from summer until late September. ;)

I wouldn't use Emergen-C as a source of electrolytes - I'll take one or two a day, but I don't really need all the other vitamins and whatnot it has in it. There is such a thing as too much, when it comes to vitamins. Not for Vitamin C. It's water soluble, so don't you simply piss out all of the ex...

Hey! Nice signature - I like the design. As for transportation, you shouldn't have a problem finding a ride. The Burn Clean Project gives people a ride on their BioBus for a nominal fee and is apparently one king hell of a time on the way out to the playa. There is also the rideshare board on the we...

Road trip is recommended as it makes the whole thing into MUCH more of an experience, but you can definitely find people headed out who would be willing to gift a lift (I think the BioBus still takes folks). As for supplies...well, as soon as Burning Man season comes around, both cities seem intent ...

We’re casting an indie feature. Now before you draw any kind of conclusion, let me just put a few things out there. We’re not Hollywood toadies or corporate doorknobs. Of course I wouldn't draw that kind of a conclusion! Since you actually willingly used the word "indie" to describe yourself, I...

Re: Green Dot Rangers?

Does anyone know what is involved in Green Dot Ranger Training? I have read the Ranger website and know that Green Dots have to do the General Ranger Training as well as the Green Dot Training. Is the Green Dot Training the equivalent to the Mentor "dirt" training that the Regular Rangers do? Or is...

Pre-Burn Accident Last Year

I was just wondering if anyone might have information regarding an accident that occurred last year on the road to Gerlach. All I know is that around Friday the week before the event, a buddy of mine and I were returning from a cargo run to Reno and as we wound our way along the cliff roads, a sign ...

No, it's not rational or fair to ask someone to eat where he/she shits. I don't think she is asking that. She is asking if someone wants to rent her bathroom to sleep--so maybe she is asking them if they want to sleep where they shit. There are lots of busy people that only use their apartment for ...

I've been reading remarkably scary reviews of the San Fran/Reno greyhound so I might give that a miss. Don't ever. Ever. EVER...take the Greyhound. My experience riding the Greyhound several years back killed a part of my soul with concentrated bleach such that nothing can ever flourish there again.

PavementBlues is definitely giving out bad advice. Forget the box of granola bars. For the same space you can add more PBR. Naw, the granola bars fill that tiny little space that is left when you can't cram any more PBR in. You see, Burning Man is more than just a hippie drug fest. It requires care...

Don't join a camp. Don't go to the event. Instead, go out to the Black Rock Desert during the Burn. Keep going past the entrance to take an alternate route onto the playa. Set up camp on the other side of the desert with nothing but a folding chair, 400 cans of PBR, and a box of granola bars. Now, s...

All this bitching is hilarious and so sad. All forms of technology will make it to the playa for wide spread use. Digging in your heels and yelling about it will not help.
