I don't see if online at Costco but I just bought the Casio Exilm 6 camera for about $130 or so on sale. I got one a few years back that worked great until I dropped it one too many times. It still works but it was time for a new one. Good deal for the money.

It would be great to have perfect conditions this year as last year was quite an event. That said, if it was always perfect, too many yahoos would join and it wouldn't really be survival in the desert. Dust, rain, heat - you adjust, enjoy, participate and explore.

I'm going weather it's hot or weather it's cold. It doesn't matter. If you sunburn your ass due to not putting on sunscreen the first day, you'll freeze your ass off in 100 degree weather the next day due to the burn. Bring fur for the night and light clothes for the day. If it's cold during the day...

How much are the dues?

I go up on the Green Tortoise every year but I grew up in Bellevue, outside of Seattle of course and I am a diehard Seahawk/Seattle fan. How much are the dues as I get in on Tuesday night with my beautiful girlfriend and we don't leave until Monday morning. I'd be happy to help set up if Tuesday nig...

This will be my seventh year and the 4th bike I've furred out with a hot glue gun. I haven't had any problems losing my fur on my bike even in high heat. When I get home, I let it sit in the sun for about an hour and then I pull off the fur. On one of my bikes I leave it on all year and take it back...

Rug Tape and Twist Ties

If you don't want to use glue, you can use doublestick rug tape to keep things together. That and some plastic twist ties should do the trick. The glue guns I've used in the past come right off but it will ruin a small portion of the fabrik.

A week would be great!

Yeah, I would love to get on the playa earlier for once so I could stay the whole week and see the city built. It always takes a day to acclimate anyway. That said, they always sell out the trips and usually have a waiting list so I don't think they'll change it anytime soon.

GT is the Best!

I've taken Green Tortoise to Burning Man the last six years. This will be my seventh. These guys are great. They provide the ride, food, water and a place to camp. You bring your tent and help either cook, clean or prepare each meal and you'll be happy you did it. You'll meet great people from all o...

Hello Newbie -- you can read multiple posts about how to safeguard your tent against the all mighty dust. That said, you're going to get dust in your tent, you ass, your nose, your ears and any other place you think it can't reach. I've seen dust storms at night but usually not as bad as the day -- ...

Camel Back for your waist

I got a fanny pack camel back from REI about 5 years ago for my first burn and it's been great every year since. It doesn't hold as much water but it's always got me there and back during the day and night. It's a little heavy when you first put it on but it hangs on your waist so I don't notice it ...

I've seen the Penskie turned into Penis with some creative electrical tape placements. I believe they used white or silver duct tape and then used the electrical tape over that.

I've never used this tent before but I've been looking for one that doesn't have the open mesh at the top. This looks like it has it but you can zip up the inside if you need to. Last year, I tried to tape my tent on both sides but ran out of tape after one side and my tent was full of dust immediat...

Badger -- great tip!

I like the idea of the neck wrap. I've never seen one before but I love the idea as I have a few newbies going with me this year and although you try to instill the water, water, water idea, it seems like some people need to get overheated before they get it.
