Re: eplaya NoCostCo (aka more free shit)

I have a small bag of random buttons. Small, but if someone can use them, you're welcome to them.

Also a bag of coconut-shell disc beads. I bought them years ago while working at a bead shop, and have yet to do anything with them. I'll throw in a bag of ugly brown beads with white/pink dots.

Re: Poll on what tiers will you participate in

I missed the poll, but I'll be opting up to the highest tier. Of course I hope I get chosen for a lower tier, but there will always be someone who needs a cheaper ticket more than I do. If I fail to get drawn, I'll be trying for the open sale, and failing that, will buy my tickets on the aftermarket.

Convinced my husband that we're actually going to do this, and paid off a big chunk of my credit card (in preparation for ticket sales).

Re: Anxious About Getting A Burning Man Ticket?

It may calm your nerves a bit to stop thinking of it as a lottery (since for most of us, a lottery is a thing with few winners and many losers). It's a drawing with 40,000 "winners" - the chances are pretty good. Last year there were around 30K people who bought tickets in January, so unless there'...

Re: Anxious About Getting A Burning Man Ticket?

I'm definitely nervous about it...I'm still trying to decide whether to scramble to pay down enough of my credit card to be able to enter the lotto, or to wait and purchase tickets on the aftermarket. Realistically, I'll most likely get my tickets either way...but this lottery business has definitel...

Re: Stop Burning Man's Culture of Bicycle Thievery!!!

This year I had another one stolen even though I had locked it religiously for ever moment accept the five minutes I spent on a trampoline. Some bold piece of trash stole from me while while I was right there! 5 minutes is more than enough time to steal a bike. Sorry that it was stolen, but...shoul...

IKEA has a small sheepskin rug, that can be cut down to cover a bike seat to make your bum-bum feel nice and soft while cruising the playa. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70026822 Another thought is a gel filled bike seat cover that can be removed after your trip to the playa and washed...

Since I have an insane craving for rice crispy bars right now, I want to commit to bringing a bunch of bad-ass, candy-filled rice crispy bars to the M&G. And my husband, I guess I should bring him too.

Spinach fettucini and cheese tortillini (my husband likes to mix pastas) with chicken pesto-alfredo, garlic bread, and green beans.

Cake and red velvet ice cream for dessert, followed by a glass (or three) of merlot (Charles Shaw, VERY fancy. Better known as Two-Buck Chuck.)

Re: Baby at BM, experience? preparation? what? where?

Basically what you want is to hear the "right" answers, which, in your mind, is "YES! BRING YOUR FRAGILE INFANT TO BURNING MAN!"

You have a lot of maturing to do before you even think of trying to take care of yourself and a small baby in the middle of the desert for a week.

Re: Baby at BM, experience? preparation? what? where?

I'd apply that policy to every ticketed event if I could: movies, airlines, etc. Maybe not busses... I agree with you to an extent. Adult-only flights and movies would be incredible. Though I must say, someone brought their toddler to our camp last year, and she was pretty cute. Even did some moves...

Re: Baby at BM, experience? preparation? what? where?

Another thing I thought of, is an 8 month old doesn't know how to operate rationally. If an adult has a head-ache and a tummy ache, and feels dizzy from dehydration, they can say to themselves "Hey, I feel sick because I'm obviously dehydrated. Time to sit and relax and get myself to drink. Even if...

Re: Baby at BM, experience? preparation? what? where?

The solution is simple and fair: no child stowaways. All humans attending the event must have their own ticket. If you drop $360 for your baby, by all means, bring it; however, I doubt many people will find that premium on bringing their child worth it. Then again, with how much people spend on day...

Re: Baby at BM, experience? preparation? what? where?

Even with my limited amount of experience with babies, everything in me is screaming NO NO NO. I have a two year old "niece", and as out-going and fearless she is, I wouldn't even dream of bringing her, in her independent and self-reliant glory (as much as a 2 year old can be), until she was a bit o...
