Pay off my credit card debt
Get my husband's teeth fixed

That's a huge tent for less than $200. I can't be of much help, but I'd go for it.

Working on a new floor-plan for the living room, so we'll have room to test our tent out :D

It's a stretch, but it's about all we can do at this point in time!

Sangria! Two bottles of merlot, a lemon, a lime, a can of pineapple plus its juice, some powdered lemonade, and raw sugar. Kind of ghetto, but delicious.

Re: Do you want to be a part of hundreds of sky lanterns

I think the heat from the flame is integral to the lanterns to be able to float. Same principle as a hot air balloon. And tethering seems like an equally bad idea as the extra weight og the tether would also inhibit lift. Not to mention having to have to deal with those things as they fall back to ...

Re: Do you want to be a part of hundreds of sky lanterns

Since everyone here has pointed out what a bad idea these are, maybe you should find an alternative? What about using those little LED tea lights instead of candles, and using kites instead of lanterns (because heat is needed to make the lanterns float, and obviously LED lights don't give off heat)....

Love this thread! It's so motivating. In preparation for next year's event, today my husband and I took our Target giftcards (we got $300 to Target in wedding gifts), and bought a tent, air mattress, and air pump. Yes. Expect at least a 4-7 hour wait. From early Monday morning last year.. We hit dust when it was still dark and didn't get to camp until well after sunrise.. My advice would be to stay in Reno at maybe The Sands ($65/night with BURN11 discount code) and then make the drive in the morning after a...

Yes, I have noodles on my dollar store shopping list, I'll be using them on guylines.
Good idea! You could slice one up and use it to cover rebar, too. Yay for the dollar store.

Re: Safely traveling with propane?

That fuel kind of scares me. I think I'll go with the propane...the stoves are cheaper and we'd only need a few tanks of gas, so the cost doesn't matter that much to me.

Thanks for your advice.

Safely traveling with propane?

So I'm going to be purchasing one or two of these: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Coleman-1-Burner-Propane-Stove/871709, and since we'll have to get little tanks of propane for them, I wanted to ask how safe is it to transport propane in a car? Something out there makes me pretty "regular" but not so much that it's uncomfortable. I think it's either the alcohol or playa dust. I'd avoid heavy beer if it's a problem as that has a crapload (no pun intended) of fiber in it. :D Heavy beer on a hot day doesn't appeal to me. I'm more of a citrus...
