Re: What's up people! from San Diego, CA

Hey Andrew and welcome. SD has a pretty active burner crew. There is a semi regular meet-up at Redwing bar & grill in north park on Tues. evenings. Sadly I teach a class that night so I rarely get to go, but when I have it was a great group. If you want to get connected to the local peeps I would hi...

Re: your stupid joke here

Yay... thread necromancy! *must be done in an Irish accent* An Irishman walks into a pub and orders 3 pints and proceeds to drink a sip out of each in turn until they are gone. He does this again and again until closing time. The barkeep thinks this is a little weird but whatever. This same guy does...

Re: Anyone attend WITHOUT the support of their spouse?

Ill go ahead and throw in my $.02. This past year was my 5th year going without my wife. Just not her thing. Hates camping, hates porto potties even more. Though I have offered to take her every year if she wants. The first year was kind of hard. There are of course all those media misconceptions th...

Hey all, Just a quick post-playa follow up: because of you'alls encouragement, I managed to get the mechanicals done on thurs, and load the trailer. into the truck went a big box of LED strips EL wire and assorted lights. It took almost a day and a half on playa, but at the end I licensed, both day ...

I'm going up on Friday, but my EAP is part of a camp build which will eat Sat, so I will work on it on m...

Thanks for the input folks, I appreciate it. I guess the answer is to bring it regardless. I have a bunch of handy camp-mates who like to diddle with this kind of stuff anyway ...

Our Drill would get us about 10-11" in. then we had to ratchet drive the rest of the way.
After a couple of those I went back to the truck for the impact and then easy sailing.
Hammer drill would be the other option.

BBadger, got to say I disagree, but you are right in that this is a minor item at best. My disagreement is aesthetic. TTITD is (for me) a visual spectacle. Anything, especially something this easy to accomplish that adds rather than detracts from the artistic visuals is worth doing. I would love to ...

dear god, do not pay $300 for that motor. the issue is not the motor but the gearing. foil tape from the big box stores is pretty cheap all told (look in the duct/vent aisle) you can use a bit to change up the logo into something fun.

Ill chime in to say that my cheap Ryobi impact driver worked just fine for putting in 12" lags, in fact so easy that I'll just bring a ton more. When in doubt, use another because they are so easy to get in and out.

Echoing Ranger magnum... Understand that noon-4 is siesta time. Find shade, your own, or there are lots of people happy to share. A large-ish cloth item and a small cooler of cold water. Is there a sample of the BM MV questionnaire online somewhere? My google-fu is failing me. The official site is closed for the season.

I just want to look it over and be thinking of my answers as I contemplate my build.
