(The best way to defend the good is to create more of it). Can I quote you? That's a simple and very true statement. I would like to add it to a trinket of mine to give away.

I understand a agree that the more a comunity holds to WE and less to I it will not help to get anything done. I will keep this in mind. I find I am defending my intentions rather than working towards the intended post. 2 heads are better than 1 so I'm am reaching into the choir for ideas on this su...

Raven9940 if you decide to come next year make and bring your own cool necklaces. There is too much a shortage of gifts on the playa as you noticed and we need more people giving. Take your experience and make next years a better burn. Someone just might trade you for something far better than a nec...

there is no argument of who owns it

I think we are slowly getting somewhere. So I will try to focus here. I think we can agree that many of us understand gifting helps the comunity to provide services or goods with out commerical influence. But many people who come rather expect the same services to be provided at the same commerical ...

So we understand I am talking about said 10 principles and importantly ones concerning participation, leave no trace, gifting, communal effort, radical self reliance. These are key to the physical opperation of BM. and very easy to take advantage of. I am leading by example by starting this topic to...

A population limit could create a higher particapation vs tourist ratio. Higher ticket prices to support additional art would encourage more creations\insperation. Discouraging the advertisement of international dj line ups could keep weekend numbers down.

Sunkenstate you are so right. The insperation we feel from what we see motivates us to get involved And makes burningman better every year. I too hope it will keep us going for many more years. This posting is geared to talk about how not to give out the wrong impression but should include how to in...

I think the concept of burningman is worth protecting from people who might misunderstand it or not care about it. If we let these people think this is another kind of spring break party we will have lost a great thing. I have seen what strong media attention can do to events. I have seen people com...

I think you missed the intention of the post. I did not complain or even state a personal opinion. I asked some important questions to a very potential problem. Do the new people know the concept of burningman? I'm actually a Techno Dj my self as well as a long time event organiser so really I have ...

I've already read them, some are funny, others have valid concern on what they are paying for. At first glance it does seem a bit much, but with a little research you soon discover how much really goes into the even and why it cost so much. Needless to say the BM. ORG is more like BM. INC and is in ...

Growing up in the mojave desert has its advantages. I know all to well the conditions that exist on the playa. I have back packed many weeks into yosemite and know the effects of high elevation freezing nights and super hot days. This trip I have a semi truck to keep me well rested and stocked. Most...

Like most people posting here I too am guilty of being a first timer who has put of the burning man experience for far too long. 10 years now I have followed the burning man movement and not made the time to go. I will be camping on my own and intend on particapating in my own way. what ever way tha...

As a parent I would not bring my kids to the BRC. I don't see why kids should be banned either. But the point being made that if a child does get hurt will be spot lighted and used as a reason for unwanted regulations is a valid concern. A parent should consider the BRC as a whole when making the ch...
