Re: Disagreement With Pershing County Could Raise 2013 Costs

Worst case is we pay $1.50 more per person per day. There might be limits set on nudity to confine it to a more nudist colony concept where it is set out of "public" view. sex or orgy camps will not be able to post signs "advertise" or "solicit in any way. I could see where they would want to increa...

Re: Poll on what tiers will you participate in

Well I took a better look at the ticket sales layout and this will not work for me. If I am unable to find a teir 1 ticket befor the event I'm going to have to skip out on 2012 and catch the Utah and Oregon regionals instead.

Re: Burning Man and Occupy Wall Street

As a truck driver i pay the sales tax of the state I'm in. Up to 11%. As for oregon there is no sales tax but cities can charge a sales tax on prepaired food. Or additional gas tax We may not have a sales tax but the tax on property and business makes up for it.my employer has to pay half for my 14%...

Re: Burning Man and Occupy Wall Street

Jester I agree on all your points. As far as taxes go, frderal, state, county, and city I pay in much more than you show. Oregon is one of the highest tax state to live in. Utility tax, cell phone tax, gas tax, property tax, sales tax, sin tax. Take those into consideration. Then there Is high intre...

Re: Burning Man and Occupy Wall Street

When I look at the money spent vs the outcome of the protest so far, its clear to me the protest is tax payer money wasted. The so called messangers are not getting the message across. In this case money talks and bullshit walks. OWS protesters don't represent enough tax payer dollars to be taken se...

Re: Poll on what tiers will you participate in

My plan is no different this year than last year. Hit the system with 6 or more internet devices to increase my odds and pick the lowest price ticket. If that does not work I wait til july and try to pick up a teir 1 or 2 ticket. I'm sure I won't be the only one slamming the system with laptops desk...

Re: Burning Man and Occupy Wall Street

I'm sure some do pay taxes but with the current federal tax code they will get most of it back at the end of the year. the poor get good tax breaks and benifits just like the rich.

Re: Burning Man and Occupy Wall Stree

OWS is a joke. They don't represent the "99%". If they did they would not have the time for this useless protest. Instead they would be working and paying taxes. I agree with what they are saying its just the wrong people saying it.

get to know people befor you start asking to play on their equiptment at BM. Most Djs never stop to think that BM is a different venue then electronic music events. You see when I hire a dj he makes me money based on the people he atracts and that money goes to pay for the wear of my equiptment. At ...

I agree that film is an art, and I rather like that you intend to put a new spin on this film project. Now the filming and its equiptment should be at your expense. BRC does not benifit from you obtaining such expensive stuff. if you were asking for funding on and actual interactive art project invo...

If you have the $ abilty to pull off the logistics of bringing a large scale art peice from CT you should not apply for low income Tickets. Starving student/artist is not a good enough reason . Fixed income or disabilty income or unenployment income need low income tickets.

I always recomend doing your first burn out side of a camp. I like to set up where its a little quiter and I have more choice of who my neighbors will be. You can always ride around once your there check out the camps and plan for next year.

I've been looking to join a camp as well although I will be doing so while I explore the playa. Don't be too worried about camping on your own I really enjoy it. Just be picky about your who you set up next to. Some camps have a fee and for very good reason. do a loot of reasearch.
