Thanks guys! Eric- if the planets align and I remember to make it to the meet and greet, can I give you a kiss? I love your response. Our emails have gone back and forth and I realize my frustration is because I don't feel like I should convince somebody to go, or to have a good time. I bluntly told...

Spin off of the Friend Thread

I wasn't sure whether to start a new topic or just post there, but I don't want to threadjack. Maybe I can get some insight from you guys. For at least (if not longer) 6 months, we've had plans to go with our tight knit group of friends. 2 couples, my best friend, and myself. Of the 6 of us, 5 of us...

I get paid to sit in a cubicle, and much like Dougy I write manuals that nobody ever reads. I also create online material that nobody ever watches. I don't feel like my life's purpose is to sit in this cubicle, but it does afford me the ability to pay my bills and a few extra things like sporadic ro...

I had a very vivid dream last night. Nightmare? Maybe. First off we found a spot at 9 and C under a freeway overpass and were excited for the sturdy built in shade but I kept wondering where the hell the overpass came from and I thought it was kind of ugly. Then we were setting up our camp and arran...

Last year was my virgin year and I learned a lot, I'm sure I'll learn even more this year. here are my biggest lessons: Bring more than just water and beer. Yes, water is very important, but in the middle of the day I found myself also wanting something with flavor and sometimes bubbles. I drank a l...

Ok i just watched that video... wow! My son is 10 and has been hooping longer than me. We were at a local burner show thing 2 years ago and he was getting lessons from all these gorgeous hooping women that thought he was such a cute little 8 year old boy. He's now surpassed me in leaps and bounds an...

I hoop.. I've only been doing it for about a year. I'd consider myself an advanced beginner. Anyway, one of the best advice I got when I started was to hoop naked. The hoop "sticks" better to bare skin, plus it really helps you learn how to feel the hoop and understand how to keep it up and move it ...

Oh and another BTW... at 4th I think I must've been asked at least 20 times if I knew where Ein Hammer was. I didn't.

Some of my favorites that I remember (this year I'm bringing a notebook dammit) "you know, the playa diet. It's like Atkins. With sand." "I just had a staring contest with a frog"--said by our very timid republican virgin campmate after she had been gone way too long for a trip to the porta potties....

Split- yup, that's the one.. Savemart. And there's a Baskin Robbins in the same shopping center, you know, because ice cream is goooood before you head out for the desert. I'd say either there or the WalMart on west mccarran (one exit west off 80) would be a good place to find a ride. CFM- hmm... I'...

Hey Split- no Von's in Reno. Maybe you're thinking of the Albertson's, wait no scratch that- used to Albertson's, now it's SaveMart on 80 and Keystone?

With stores and hotels (MGM/Ballys/Grand Sierra) constantly changing their names it can get confusing!

I live in Reno and I was thinking of going out to the airport on Sunday night and just hanging out w/ a sign that says "need a ride to BRC?" or something like that. I have a big van, and I'm driving alone, caravanning w/ my camp. I have a reputation in my camp of bringing strays home... this would j...

Hello! I think I should introduce myself. I'm Michelle, I live in Reno. I've been wanting to go to BM for 16 years since I was a college freshman and a friend invited me. I didn't go b/c I couldn't afford the $50 ticket and didn't have any camping equipment. Then I fell in love, got married, my husb...
