Re: The person below me

Yes but, I don't want to wait an extra week for TTITD.  TPBM is waiting anxiously for the package with that awesome thing they got for TTITD to arrive. Correct!!! I have some EL Wire on the way (supposed to be here tonight!) as well as a better pump for my playa cooler ala Figgy TPBM ju...

Re: Jumper Cables

A man walked into a bar and sat down, and ordered a beer. As he sipped the beer, he heard a soothing voice say "nice tie!" Looking around, he noticed that the bar was empty except for himself and the bartender at the end of the bar. A few sips later the voice said "great shirt". At this, the man cal...

Re: Monkey Love Hut PVC...to cut or not to cut?

I found, while transporting the 10' pieces back from the box store, that by strapping them all together via duck tape they didn't flop around nearly as much as they did when left to their own devices. I plan to do the same on the way out to the playa. Strap all the 10' together in a few places, then...

Re: Bikes for big burners!

Typically, I would suggest sticking with a single speed drive out on the playa, as the dusty tends to wreak havoc on drive trains, but that may not be an option as getting moving on a single speed can be a bit of burden if the load is greater. As for tires, I'll repeat what others have already said,...

Re: cooling your tent or van

Howdy Y'all. Has anyone tried using a plain old "accessory car fan" for this project? it would seem to be a natural fit for a 12v fan that runs off of a cig. lighter plug. Hard to find CFM numbers but i would guess 500-900CFM based on a few similar fans. The big concern would be the amp draw, espec...

When my house was burgerized last month, my tickets were among the first (not the first but high up there) things I checked to see if they had been stolen also. Priorities, right? The day they sold out I had realized that I hadn't caressed my ticket in quite some time, so I gave it some loving righ...

Well my first name is Alex hence the 'a' and the last bit is a play on my last name. Honestly i have had people call me all kinds of versions of my last name (bondy, bondo, sherbert, sherberdy, the list goes on) so I picked one. I, like others, have yet to receive a playa name. Remember too that you will hit traffic and most likely gridlock on the hwy as well. We sat for at least 1-2 hours in the middle of the hwy about 5 miles before Gerlach. Plan to leave Reno around 9pm if you want to be hitting wheels on dust but still back in the line by 1-2am. Excellent, thanks for ...

Personally, even though I know gates will open at 6pm (not just from this thread..).. I still will time my arrival at midnight.
