I know the title, probably read reference to it but I've never read it. No one's ever mentioned it to me as something I should read though.

I assume this would be the standard wisdom. The escapist aspect of the event is a part of the allure for me, although I feel sorely late for the party with so much exposure in recent years and pop culture references. The flip side of that it the Radical Inclusion principle. I have noticed between re...

I think paper mache would hold glass just fine but you have to do it right. I would make sure to mix a good paste mix, I've used wheat paste with lots of elmers wood glue dissolved in the mix, and then rolls of butcher paper for the skin. Once you get 5 to 10 layers of that on there it will be very ...

The gif is a tesseract.

Also known as a 16-cell dual polytope. Its used by theorists to help conceptualize a 4th dimension.
Time is the 4th dimension, wouldn't a clock help conceptualize that better?

(I'm easily confused.)

If you really want to see waste, try hauling the trash out of a ten story tall, twin towered dormitory for a few years! Especially during Move Out, the experience will really make you wonder how fast those landfills fill. my favorite time to curb browse for new furniture. I've found stereos...

Lived in Eau Claire from 95 to 09, love it there. Moved to Omaha due to a promotion opportunity with my job. I don't know of I'll ever live there again but WI is a very special place.

Yeah, I only know about up here in Wisconsin. Even here, I don't think the enforcement side has school buses a high priority. There just aren't that many of them to bother with if they aren't obviously hurting anyone. My guess is it is just something someone could get nailed with if the officer has...

Well, that's good news! Around these parts, you can't leave an ex-school bus yellow, so no putting a fake school on the side. I don't know how well enforced it is, nor how much has to be "not school bus yellow." (And I even worked for the state's DMV for a while and read the regulations.) Apparentl...

One thing, if it all sounds the same to you, you're not really listening to it or it's being played on a crappy system or it's EQ'd all wrong. ..or it's just a shitty DJ. Plenty of them do play lousy, boring tunes that really all sound the same. Same goes for folks that only play a very narrow sub-...

I'm thinking about shining a laser up in the air to mark our camp after the Burn when all the street signs are down, and shining lasers at aircraft is a violation of applicable law - hence a NOTAM. http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=37280 See also threads cited in that one on laser light ...

When was this photograph taken? Who took it and why? I understand what we see here. What is not clear is whether there had been clearing ops involving a cutting torch or air arc cutter. That bus looks practically new. Good find! It's a friends and he's put money into it and I think had the whole thing repainted, not just the lettering on the side, judging from the pictures. Personally, I think the "tin foil hat" wearers are the ones who believe the official story. I mean... the hijackers brought their terror plans with them in their luggage? I think that a lot of the current conspiracy theories about scientific cover-ups, not only exist for the same reason we invented gods (a need to explain and feel power over events that leave us horribly aware of how vulnerable we are in a big, scary world) but also a general ignorance about how sci...
